I weighed myself this morning and have now lost 33.5lb. It only occurred to me midmorning that is the weight of my 3yo daughter. I cant carry her for more than 10 mins so how did I carry all that around with me. I have been frustrated today that I cant see my weight loss in myself anywhere yet despite being 2 dress sizes down so this has cheered me up. Now to lose the 5YO!

How are you guys doing

Awesome. I've almost lost my 14 year old - I think. At last count she was right at 100 pounds. LOL I just wish I could find something positive about my weight. I'm doing better in my head, but that number and sizes and pics unchanging while I get my head on straight is a bit discouraging!

Congrats on "getting rid of" the 3 yo's weight...because to me losing implies you could find it again, and we so are not going there!

Yeah I hit a plateau last week but seem to have shifted it by switching up my macros a bit. Ive upped the protein and downed the carbs a bit. I also cant see it in myself yet which is disheartening but the scales and tape are moving so I have to keep telling myself I will see it eventually

Whoops! Just noticed we have a today thread and I just replied to yesterday's thread. My comments were mostly in response to that thread, but I wanted to post this here, in case people don't go back and read:

This weekend, I'm taking my husband and son zip lining. My daughter and I are afraid of heights, but I'm seriously considering joining in anyway. You must weigh less than 250lbs, and I do now, but only by about 10 pounds. Not sure if they make you weigh with gear on or how that works, so I'm anxious about this. Can't decide if I should take the leap (literally) and risk the embarassment of being too heavy, or stay safe on the ground. This is definitely a touchy subject for us that are obese, so I know you guys will understand my fears. Has anyone dealt with this recently?

Nothing as specific as that. I did go canoeing this summer despite it being in shallow water which I would never have tried a year ago. But nothing that has weight limit yet. Caroline it is such an amazing step already that you are just thinking of doing it. With the weight plus the heights (I have that fear too) it is definitely stepping out of your comfort zone to think about it. Personally I would call them and ask directly. I presume that their weight limit is without gear but if this is something you really want to say I did it then can you phone someone and ask them so you do not have to face any potential 'embarrassment' when you get there. I do not know if I could do it. I am willing to try more things now and this summer I tried hard to be a mum Dean could do these things with, but the height fear is quite strong for me. When he goes up a tall slide I freeze and have to force myself to not panic. I am not even up it!

Yeah, I responded on the previous day's post recommending the calling first, too. I say even if you are uncomfortable enough you don't want to give your name or whatever, just fake it. Also, I would totally celebrate it myself and just tell them "I've lost XYZ pounds, I'm excited to try this, and I just wanted to verify if that weight limit is with or without gear." Usually they are so excited for you, they don't judge, but I'm in a different place than you are, and I'm a different person... So either way, I vote for a call, whether you make it, you rock it, you fake it, or you get your hunny/someone else to call.... :)

Carly I like the way you phrased that, I think I might try it. But, NO WAY will my husband call for me. Or anyone for that matter. To let them know the numbers are that high, even though they probably really do, would just kill me.

Thanks for the boost, guys. I keep going back and forth. Today I'm totally going to try it. We'll see what happens on Sunday, lol.

I guess I'm scientifically minded enough that to me a number is just data. I've never bought into the fact that because I weigh 254 pounds (today, anyway) that I'm a horrible person. Or that because I'm 38 that I'm old and decrepit. Or that I'm 5'4" that I'm a midget... And so on and so forth. That doesn't mean when that scale went up over 300 that I didn't think badly upon myself, but that was because I knew logically what it meant in terms of bad health, etc. We all have hang-ups, hesitations, and weakness...knowing your own so you can fight them, that's where the awesome is... LOL

Me personally, I couldn't do this journey if I wasn't out and proud, so to speak. I think every single person on my facebook (over 200, I think) has seen my weight listed at some point when I was posting part of a challenge. I don't give a rat's patootie... I don't know why. Now someone insulting me personally, I'm a bit weaker there...lol Who knows?

Maybe I'm just hitting my age stride - where I give far less of a crap about what anyone thinks? Yeah, we'll call it that... Hee hee heh.

Well to be fair your daughter doesn't disassemble into several parts to make easier to carry.

Man, I've almost lost 3 3yo's... Dear god.
