I just looked at my reports and I am woefully low on my fiber intake, so I am challenging myself and all of you to reach your MFP fiber goal 5 out of the next 7 days. Anyone in?

Where do you track your fiber at?

You can tell mfp to track it in your settings

I'll try to reach it this coming week. I temporarily exchange sugar with fiber so I could track it. It would be hard hitting it though. I'll try to at least be near the target.

Peacehawk - what is your fiber set at?

I was way over on fiber yesterday. I make a chicken and bean soup on the weekend for my lunch during the week plus I made a bean/corn salad that helps out too. Got my protein in too.

Beans and corn are great sources of fiber. Great job! I'll have to look at my settings. I just know I made it barely Thursday! Yay!

25 grams is my goal on MFP. doctors say you should have more to keep your gut healthy though.

Day 2 I reached my fiber goal, but went wayyy over on calories. Haven't done that in a while. By the way, MFP ups your fiber goals with an increase in calorie allowance. Today my goal was 30. Good thing there were veggies on that pizza i had for breakfast! (I need to start ignoring the temptations my partner brings into the house.)

Aww, lost to this challenge. But I think I am very weak in controlling macros as of now. Baby steps. I may be able to hit my macros better eventually. I am incorporating healthy foods and eliminating the unhealthy ones one at a time so it may take long but I think it will be more sustainable for me this way.

Any one else have the same anticipated challenge that i have: HALLOWEEN CANDY??!!!! The boxes of little chocolate bars are lined up on the buffet in the dining room; my husband is a Halloween enthusiast...he loves the little children, loves to offer them wonderful treats, loves to get giggles out of them and raves about every single costume. So i'm not going to rain on his parade...but boy, those boxes are calling me. My challenge will be to distract myself...and then put any leftovers in my trunk until i can take them to the office on Monday. Any one have any other tips? I know I can't have just one.

This was a great one, but for me wasn't a big deal this year for two reasons 1) we don't get any trick or treaters. I live in a neighborhood with old people and in the city of Flint, people are afraid to let their kids trick or treat on the streets, so we didn't buy any. If we had gotten trick or treaters, they would have gotten money or really good quality lindt chocolate that our neighbor gives us. 2) I don't have kids to steal candy from, and for the first time in several years, we didn't go trick or treating with our goddaughters.

I've noticed that there are 2 ways to look at the category "weekly challenge". When I am feeling enthusiastic and energetic and on top of the world, it's clear to me that it's meant as a vehicle to set goals, to move the bar forward, to push a little harder. But the past few days have not been the enthusiastic, high energy ones with the result that when I look at "weekly challenge" all I can think of is "man, yeah, boy I'm feeling really challenged" and the challenge is to dig deeper and be more conscious of all the decisions in a day, a hour, a minute, that I must make to ride through the tough period. It requires a heightened level of vigilance to stay the course and use my head rather than give in.
So because I am having a challenging week, my weekly challenge will be to grit my teeth and move through it to the time and place where I'll find my energy and enthusiasm again, and make all the right decisions rather than take the path of least resistance...

So, basically your challenge is to stay present? I like it.
