Just looking through some peoples bulking journals as I sit here prepping for class and I'd like to point out we're a bunch of fierce women.

I see tattoo bodies.

I see strong bodies.

I see women who aren't ashamed of themselves- and aren't afraid to step outside societies rules and chase a dream. I see women who are proud of their hard work.

I LOVE IT.

I love it so very much- just really made me smile this morning.

So a big THANK YOU for kicking so much *kitten* I love it.

Was going to post something yesterday and I got distracted with rehearsal stuff.

anyone got anything good for this week? day's off? new events plans? anything?

we have our show this coming Saturday- I have been having an insatiable appetite- weight ws still 160 this morning- blew the last few days something fierce- not sure what's going on- extra time- maybe my period (I only get it ever 3 months- so I'm willing to consent that MAY actually be part of it. Shrug- annoying to be completely starving feeling all the time- but trying to do better with chicken and proteins- they have been slacking.

I feel like my weights are going down a little bit- but I'm honestly okay- I've been dancing 7 days a week- it's fricking beating me the hell up. So I think it's okay to slide a little backwards- it's happening- it's just on the back fence. I'm still lifting 3 times a week- so again- nothing major- just a little less intensity.

I think Spring I'd like to revamp goals long term- I have a dance intensive in July- so that will be very cardio heavy- might switch to a less power focused program- it up to lose some body fat so I'm lugging less weight around. I think I might be less disappointed with myself if I shift focus and I don't worry so much about power- I think if I"m shifting for dance and continue to focus on power I'll be sad and frustrated. I don't know.

My BF and I have seriously started discussing marriage- I suspect I'll be married in a yaer- I'm waffling back and forth between my flare for drama and this very intense "I can't plan a wedding- WTF who has time for that- that's way to much work and WAY to much monday" overwhelming feeling. But it's now on the back burner of my brain simmering away. blarg- SO MUCH *kitten* LOL

Anyway just some more musings. Just some thoughts.

how about you guys? what's going on??

I have my daughters 21st on Sunday :open_mouth: Me and her sister are going to try to make a hogwarts cake Thursday/Friday (as I can't afford one) - should be interesting. She's harry potter daft.

Just got back to training tonight after slacking for about a week and a half. I had the cold and also, just couldn't be arsed - tried out PHAT and it just wasn't for me. Giving strong curves a go, I've had the book for ages and did some of the exercises but never the programme - first night was enjoyable so I'm optimistic.

Exciting news for you!! I've never been able to commit to it myself (what's mine is mine :o) - told bf that he has to save up for a wedding ring (diamond eternity type) as I'm not into engagement rings - they come in at around £4000-8000 so he should be saving for around 10 years or so....I might be ready for it by then =D

You doing the full white shebang?

Jo - Good luck with your show! And that is exciting news about an upcoming marriage! Weddings don't have to be crazy, it can be as big or small as you both want it to be. Awesome to hear though :)

Elaine - Wow, HBD to your daughter! Yay for strong curves.... and also an upcoming marriage... in 10 years.. :p

As for me, things are more calm down, with both of my daughter's first birthday parties out of the way I can concentrate on everything else. My back is also feeling better so that is a plus.
Hope everyone else is doing well

HA HA a hogwarts cake- please post pictures- I need to see this. And good luck!!! LOL

Let us know about Strong Curves- I love hearing about other people's programs!!!

I'm same boat- mine is mine- I don't mind sharing with him- but I've been living alone for a long time- and I'm by nature a little bit narcissistic and I like shiny things- I've nick named myself the narcissistic raccoon- OH all about me all about me-

oh a shiny thing!!! All about me shiny thing oh all about me- oh oh oh shiny thing!!!

So I suspect living with him will be a chore- but we have some religious conflicts in my family about 'living with" people outside wedlock- so we're kind of in that weird- how do we save enough money to have a wedding without living together first space.

No- I don't think it'll be the full white shebang- I can't afford that- it's a waste of money. I know I want a red dress of some sort- problem is budget weddings tend to fall into two very distinct categories.
    Country.
    Beach.

I'm not country- I do not wear "boots" and I under no circumstances wear "boots" with my dresses- and tall zippered stream lined boots are different. So are flutag- fabulous grommeted lace up type boots. I'm talking- country boots. fk that *kitten*. no.way.

and neither of us are really beach people. So yeah I don't know. I don't want a big event- I just want to get married and have a nice party.

it's definitely a "thing". I'll probably do a thing- I want my family there- and probably his- and my best friend- I want good food- and I want dancing- and pretty pictures. I don't care about much else- and at some point jewlery- I have pretty laid back taste in rings- no diamonds- probably a sapphire or a garnet. He has access to a pinterest board I started for him. I said- look- I'm going to put these here- if you want to look. Look.

    If you don't'. don't.

I dot' care. I don't even know if he looks- but they are there- he has a resource. shrug it's going to happen in the next year or two- it kind of has to. But he moves slowly- and he likes to do surprises and planning things- so I'm trying to not be push about it.

and another random news- my coworker just brought back the most delicious pickle from lunch. nomnomnomnom

    I LOVE pickles.

Jo, I don't share with my husband except for the house expenses. We've kept everything else separate. Now, we're both engineers, and we both graduated at the same time (actually met at the consulting firm where he still works), so everything is pretty equal between us. But as you can imagine, we're both very independent and have kept it that way. Works really well for us.

I love this group too! My interests and talents are all over the place, and I love seeing other women that are the same! Every time I see your posts about dancing I remind myself I need to get back into it. Aerial and weights have completely dominated my life. I need a little belly dance to keep me supple.

    YAY FOR CAKE!!! NOMBNOMNOBONMBOMBNOMNOMNOM

who cares- as long as it tasted good and you had fun!!! Which that looks like fun toh ave made!! LOL

Hussey: That sounds good that you've made it work- which is good to know- we aren't in the same fields but we are managing to pull about the same amount- which is nice- i just have more bills and more expensive tastes and he likes to care take- which is fine- as long as he isn't using it as leverage (he hasn't- we only fought in 4 years about that subject once- so -so far so good. )

It's nice to have variety- I wish I could do more things- i'd love to try silks- but dancing and costuming and lifting and the out of town BF are about all my poor life can handle- I'm pretty much one of those 10 pounds of *kitten* in a 5 pound bag kind of person LMAO DO ALL THE THINGS!!! ALL THE TIME!!!

yeah its' kind of this ineveitable march forward- no fancy romance- just the reality that we have to move in- and the reality that marriage is a part of that. I do expect jewlery and he knows it.

I'll keep you all posted- even if I have a crappy tiny ceremony- I'll have some form of fabulous dress- (narcissistic raccoon and all). in red/wine/black- one of those colors. Because white doesn't suit me.

And mmmhmmm its' been days since the pickle- but now I want pickles- I think tomorrow is all you can eat sushi- it's like pickles- but better.

    and now everyone wants sushi.

you're welcome. I'm totally taking pictures if we go. muah ha h ah ha ha ha

Ha! Me too! It's pole on Monday, silks on Tuesday, Lyra on Thursday. Weights in the mornings on whatever days work for rest. I really need a flexibility class in there, but I might just settle for yoga. I'd also love to start working a little Corde Lisse into my training, but not sure when that will happen.

I danced for a good 10 years, so I'd probably be happy with an extensive drills and combo class, just to keep the skills up. Thankfully, the fire spinning and hooping days are behind me and I don't feel the need to work those into my routine.

I've always been a very hobby-centric person. Shoot, I used to ride and train horses and would love to work that into my routine as well. Luckily after this next book goes to the editor, I'll probably take a break from my other hobby, writing romance novels.

Oh, and I like to drink like it's a hobby, too. :drinker:

    Lol yupppers

my poor horse is down in south jersey maturing very nicely into a wild pen pony. LOL. I just don't ride any more. :(

Angela Haysworth I think just put out a really nice layering DVD specifically for more advanced dancers- so none of this "this is a snack arm shoulder roll" *kitten*. actual real drilling.

Some of the Tribal Ones- Zoe Jakes- Asharah are quiet extensive on drilling and style- so something perhaps to eye ball for a rainy day instead of committing long term to classes.

oh gosh- I have to go- it's late!!! Drat- to the gym- universal chest day!!!!!
