Started doing CrossFit back in the springtime and I am totally hooked. I'm loving the results I'm seeing and the support at my box - hoping to spread some of that positive energy here on MFP.

Would love to find out how you guys adjust your eating for WOD days vs rest days? I don't have a TON of weight to lose, but definitely would like to trim down and make sure I'm getting the most of all my hard work. I was gluten free (doctor's orders) for a few months in the summertime, and found it wasn't something that made me feel particularly better or lose any weight. Now I follow a moderately low carb diet and do my best to avoid the processed stuff. I am a huge believer in everything in moderation and love to cook. Would love to connect to some of my CrossFitters here on MFP!

I generally don't adjust at all. Maybe a protein shake post WOD, but not even that lately. I'm carrying enough fat to power through an hour long workout :)

I eat more carbs on WOD days and on days I don't WOD, I lower the carbs and eat more fats to make up for it. Usually eat a bit under my calories on control days.

I follow Eat to Perform and love it. You can find them on Facebook. I eat my carbs around my WODs and eat more carbs on days I work out more.

I went a month on strict paleo and gave up my oatmeal pre-WOD. My performance greatly suffered and as soon as I went back to the old routine, boom, all better. I have lost about 10% BF in the last year, but I have stayed the same weight. People who want to lose weight do better on the program if they take rest days and eat at a slight deficit and lower carb. I just have one active rest day, so it doesn't work as well for me in that area.

As a rule I just try to eat less on days I don't workout but I don't change my overall eating plan.

I log calories for WOD so just eat to those (with much more protein). Aching today after rings, pull ups and press ups yesterday :p

Someone from CF sent me this link to a podcast featuring the guy who created ETP (eat to perform). Its lenghty but makes sense and his explinations on how he eats on the days he trains, the days off, and on rest days was really helpful to me. The biggest mistake I was making when I started CF was undereating. If you have the time, it's worth a listen.

If you are a Master, he is on the CF Masters group on Facebook (Paul Noble Jr) and is pretty active and willing to engage folks, even those who aren't ETF customers.
