Ultra runner

I finished my first trail 50K this past weekend. I had a good time, it was rough..but not too rough. I finished in just under 7 hours. Not a "fantastic" time, but I'm proud of it. Around mile 22 my knee started to hurt (I think I stressed my IT band or something) but I was able to push myself through and finish. It was warmer than I had hoped..end of October in Nebraska...should not get into the mid 80's!! But I'll be running this again! I don't plan on taking the next jump to a longer race for a least a year or so. I have plans to crew some longer races first. A group of friends are putting together their own 145 mile run, I plan on crewing them along (in my car of course!) but that will help me better understand what is needed to finish those longer races, just in case I ever get the itch to try one :)
