Hi All
I'm so terrible with this. I do not follow the T25 guide lines of eating 1600 calories. I know-shame on me!
I have a fitbit one and use an HRM. My average calorie burn from these T25 workouts are anywhere from 225-300 calories, and I do these work outs six days a week, manually logging the workouts burned by my HRM into MFP.

Right now MFP gives me 1730 calories per day (Plus exercise calories), and then I have my fit bit linked too--I know--a LOT going on!!

Since Starting T25, my weight has been flying all-over-the-board. I've lost 3.5 lbs and 18+inches (all over), but there are days where it will show a 5lb gain! I know its not possible but its making me wonder if my deficit is too much or not enough and my body is freaking out? for example yesterday when I stepped on the scale I was down, then yesterday I ate under my calorie goal by 175 calories---and my weight flew up 5lbs this morning. My calories eaten was 1811, goal to eat was 1986 and my TDEE from my fit bit (including my T25 workout) was 2459.

According to my fitbit one.. my average TDEE since the 6th of October when I started doing T25 and logging those workout calories has been: 2318. If I were to do the TDEE method, as some have suggested to me, to eat at about 15% less is about 1918 calories, my food intake yesterday was under that a bit.

I know I know..I shouldn't rely on the scale (I've been an every day weigher since I was 14) Not understanding why my body freaked out this morning by giving me a 5lb gain. (Not TOM either-that's been fixed...although could still be hormone fluctuations)...just frustrated, that I haven't been on a steady downward trend. I know inches have been lost--so the scale does lie, but when does the scale catch up to the inches lost?????

How are you all doing this? Are you logging your exercise calories based on a HRM? Should I only be using my Fitbit? Should I guestimate the burns? Should I not log any exercise calories?? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Remember your weight can fluctuate due to sodium, water retention, etc etc etc. I wouldn't worry about the weight thing. You're a daily weigher just like me, and I wonder the same things.

As far as logging, I log all of my food with MFP, then I wear my HRM, and record my exercise burn from there. I don't use a FitBit. I know that we SHOULDN'T eat back our burned calories, but I consume 1800+ calories a day due to my weight and what-not.

What are you set to lose through MFP in your profile? 2lbs per week?

Let's do the math. If you want to lose 1 pound per week, you have to consume 500 calories LESS per day than your TDEE, or 3500 calories per week.

    So, 2318-500 = 1818.

Now, don't eat your burned calories back (consuming what you've burned off, that's maintenance, not active loss), and you can take another 275 calories per day off.

So, 500 (1 pound per week just by under-consumption) + 275 (average for your T25 workouts) is 775 calories deficient per day.

2318 - 775 = 1543 NET CONSUMED per day when you do the T25 exercises.

If you're consuming less than 1200 calories per day, I'd be worried. But, as long as your actually putting 1200 calories (net consumed) or more of food in your body per day, you should be good.

That's my personal take on it. I wouldn't worry about fluctuations in the scale.

The 2318 (TDEE) is including what I burned From T-25. Its the amount of calories I burn in an entire day which includes my work outs.

Right now I have MFP is set to 1730 (that's my 500 (1lb loss) deficit on MFP) then I add in my exercise calories and then my fitbit adjusts positive or negative based on any extra steps I take or don't take, My eating goal can be anywhere between 1650-1950 per day. And occasional splurge over that, but it just floors me how much my weight has been fluctuating like this. I haven't found that 'sweet' spot everyone talks about yet..for losing weight. maybe I need to disconnect my Fitbit! :-)

Well, good luck! I hope you find that "sweet spot" (my first time ever hearing of a sweet spot). I'm about to jump my training up ten-fold by doing T25 and running.

Sweet spot meaning what calorie intake # will proved me with continuous losses ;)

Wow!! Good luck with all that! I can't wait to get to the point where I can feel strong enough to step it up! Good job and thanks for the guidance!!!

So, I had a weird thought... how long has it been since you changed the battery in your scale? A dying battery can cause crazy changes.

I took a good look at my spreadsheet I keep and just noticed a pattern, about every two days my wieght hikes up about 3-5lbs and then goes back down either to where it was previously or a new low. I'll have to keep an eye on this, plus check the battery on my scale! :-)

Wish I could edit the above post, anyhow, I also noticed on my spreadsheet, when my net calories consumed, was lower than my BMR # , that's when the scale shot up. I'm going to have to keep an eye on that. Anyhow, just a tidbit.

Sounds about right! If you don't eat enough calories, your body will store whatever you feed it, because it goes in to "starvation mode". Good pickups!
