So I ran my first "15k" race (actually was split up into a 10k and then a 5k back to back), and I did pretty well!!
10k- 1:12:42
5k- 35:45
Slow, I know, but still good considering I just started running in May.
Anyway, I'm super excited, but ever since the race, I can't put weight on the ball of my right foot . Boo...
There's no bruising or swelling, just pain. I'm wondering how long should I give it to heal up on its own before going to the doctor? Or should I go tomorrow and get an x-Ray? I know you guys aren't licensed to practice medicine, but if it's all the same, I'd appreciate some input!

If your talking it's just uncomfortable to put weight on the ball of your foot, like it's bruised I'd give it a few days to see if any bruising comes out or if it gets better. If you mean you honestly can't put weight on it, get thee to a doctor.0

Does your local running store have a trainer? I'd call up the place you got fitted for your shoes and ask. I'm part of a running club that's run by our local store, and they have an athletic trainer that people can go see for free. Last time my foot was hurting I went in to see her, and she gave me some stretches I could do with an elastic band, told me to ice it, and it was better in a couple of days. If it's a serious sharp sort of pain, definitely go see a doctor about it. Soreness is one thing, but sharp pains are usually not a good sign.0
