Struggling to fit it in!

I have a hectic schedule. I typically leave early and get home late. By the time I spend time with my children, get them situated, and prepare dinner...it's 10pm. After eating I am tired and often don't get my workout in. I think the time in which I am eating and inconsistent work outs are slowing my progress. I am looking for ideas on how to fit it in...motivation...and encouragement. This is not a diet....this is not a diet.... I appreciate your feedback.

That's the story of my life. I find that accountability partners helpful, even if it's just through social media. It also helps me to run reports on my exercise minutes. If I see I fell off, it motivates me. I'm trying to get healthy enough to reverse diabetes so I have to tell myself that if I don't find this special "me" time, I will quickly run out of time for everything else. I find myself working out at 7, 8, or sometimes 9 PM. I also get depressed and will go a month without doing anything. It's hard but you can do it. Good luck.0

If you find that you cannot fit in exercise, stay diligent with your calorie counting. As long as you have a deficit you will lose; however, you may find that you are not toning as well without some form of exercise. Get it in where you can: take the stairs, park at the back of the lot, double your walking pace, etc.0

Thank you ladies!! I will definitely take your advice. I had not thought about doubling my pace. What are you using to run your exercise reports?0

If you click on Reports (top of MFP web page), you can see up to the last 90 days of either calories burned or the number of minutes spent on exercise. That's all I've got!0

I use the MFP app to run my reports, too. I wish they'd report exercise minutes for the year like they do weight. I'm going to suggest that.0

It is okay, sometimes life happens and we have to make the best of things. If you cannot workout on a schedule that means you will have to pay more attention to your diet and eating well balanced meals. You will still lose weight.
I have a FitBit and when I first got it I would just find ways to add more steps to my days, even little things like making several trips with my laundry or taking a second walk around the grocery store . . . they not only add up they increase your agility and give you more energy. I also use an app called Sworkit Lite (it syncs with MFP) it has 5-10-15 . . . minute workouts that you might be able to fit in here or there. Remember even doing 2 or 3, 10 minutes workouts add up!0 -
Thank you ladies! I have been fitting it in! Your feedback has been greatly appreciated!0

I know I'm late but if this is still an issue something that has worked very well for me is working out on my lunch break at work, and including exercise in my communte to work (when the weather permits). I either get of train a few stops before I'm at my office and walk, or I bike to work in the summer. I also invested in a run stroller so I can get out with my little one.0

This is how I started increasing my walking, If you take PT to commute it really is a no brainer, just get off a stop or two and get those steps in. I have gotten to the point where I would rather walk to work and/or home instead of being on the bus (my walk is a little over 3 miles) I also walk at lunch or get in a short gym workout at lunch or right after work.
I figure like this, I give a great deal of my time and prime energy to my job, why can't I take some time for myself!0 -
Thank you saanaismom and adc7725. I try to Get a walk in during lunch when the weather permits. Living in a cold climate with snow tends to slow me down, but I will definitely get back to it. Thank you for your suggestions!0
