Breastfeeding and fitbit

Hello!
This is cross posted under general questions, but thought I would reach out here, too.
I am exclusively breastfeeding my baby, so I know I need to eat about 500 more calories a day. My question is about my fitbit; do I add my BF calories manually and then let my fitbit take care of the rest (my activity?) Thank you!

I would, as you burn about 500 more calories a day when you breastfeed. you don't need to eat all 500 back as long as you are consuming a normal amount already to what you work off with work outs and normal daily burn (and if you are trying to lose weight.) Also adding healthy foods with healthy fats like nuts and avocados will help bring in some of those calories and add healthy "fattiness" to the milk it self. Just remember WATER WATER WATER! As I'm sure you know you need to up your water in take with breast feeding and when you add working out to that even more. Good luck ^.^0

There was just a thread about this last week. You might find it helpful: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10036846/fitbit-myfitnesspal-and-breastfeeding0

I am also exclusively breast feeding, so I wanted to see what other ladies are getting as a calorie goal. I have mfp set to lose 1lb a week and have synced my fitbit. Mfp gives me 1900 calories a day (after I've included the -500 for breast feeding) and my fitbit is also giving me between 300-500 calories for activity. That seems to be a LOT of food. Anyone else? I just don't know how much to actually eat.0

Follow your MFP calorie goal for a few weeks, then reevaluate your progress.0
