You guys are awesome!
But reading up on past posts its so nice to hear updates!
I'm doing good.... The damage for going off ULC didn't hurt me "that much". Back on ULC and doing the induction.
I made a promise to Arturo that I won't step on a scale till my
Made some "paleo bacon meatballs" last night with grass fed beef and my last pack of pastured ground pork.
Someone asked a while back how do I like IF. I like it. It only takes a couple of days to get use to it. I'm doing it to keep my macros in check. Once I start eating, I'd want to eat. So if I push it as late as possible, it helps with my urges. I don't feel weak or dizzy and I go on long walks and intense Muay Thai Training on an empty stomach. It has not affect my performance. So I'm gonna keep doing it!

I am officially too far behind on here to catch up so I will go back a few posts and then start from here. Except I want to make a shout out to...
MarkMcElvy, (((hugs))) to you and ditto on what Carol said. I am so very sorry for your loss, but glad that you are here. I know it is very difficult and am reminded of my father when we lost my mom over 20 years ago. I like to believe that they, your wife, my mom.... are here in spirit nudging us along. Take care and you are not alone at wanting to get those goals reached back. I am attacking my cholesterol right now. We will get there!
TJ, that is one odd looking gizmo. Must read earlier posts.
Mark C, Congrats on holding steady!
Hey Howie! Woohoo on the loss!
Kevin, Windchills here are going between 20-30 below. It is awful and why I need to move to warmth.
What do I have...
Downer Kristin here. Not much happening. Bad morning at work and it left me unsettled. Cold...cold...cold... Having a couple of "those day" where I am funky. They will pass. Struggling with Whole30, doing it, but struggling big time. Ask poor Jen. I think I may have capital-lettered cursed in a google chat. haha I did some rowing last night and doing StrongLifts, which is going well. As for gizmos, I have many. My favorite is my lovely Garmin GPS watch and now I have a Fitbit Zip which I have yet to wear. Jen already knows this about me, but although I love technology, I also fight it. I am the only person I know who does not currently have a Smartphone. I NEVER talk on the phone unless I have to and the boss has finally given up contacting me days, nights, weekends, holidays...because he can't, or I don't answer! Score:)
Will try and catch up more later. Miss all of the banter:)

Kris, I think you left out the four letter words at least. Always have an ear for ya if you need to talk (that goes for anybody). I wish I could help on the Whole 30. What are your struggles with it?
I almost feel like a slacker since I'm not out jaunting. I will be hitting the pavement hard this weekend though. Another good day. Getting ready to close out the food journal and check the boxes0 -
Top diets of 2015. Paleo and raw food diet ranked near the bottom. What are your thoughts?0

This is what we did on New Year's Day! Our Rosie the black and white is one of the lead dog and Kira the brown dog is behind her being the point dog. I'm very proud of Rosie, some dogs can't handle the pressure of leading a team but Rosie did great! A little "la di da" sometimes but she kept moral up and was eager to work. Kira isn't too shabby as well! For a 14 y.o she did exceptional! Kira was never a leader but always ready to pull.

Hi everyone! Still going strong on the Whole 30. I also convinced a woman at work to start one too. I loaned It Starts With Food by Dallas and Melissa to her in early December and it interested her enough to try it! She started on Monday. This morning she came into work and shared with me that she thinks her joints are already starting to feel a little better, but she is worried that it might just be in her head. She is also getting more support from her husband than she originally thought she would. I really hope these 30 days change the way she looks at food for the rest of her life.0

Oh, I almost forgot.......-10 windchill is nothing! Try -6 for a high and -25 windchill. It is not always so fun living in Central Wisconsin. Have a great night everyone.0

Wow lots here.
Mark & Howie -keep up the great work!
Kris - glad to hear you're still on strong Lifts. I am starting to feel the weights. Not failing, still progressing. but they are beginning to feel tough
Carol, TJ & Jenn looks like I lose my first point tonight. Ate late. And no way I'm staying up another hour to get that point. Sleep first.
Dinner. Wasn't feeling going out to dinner. And wanted some cream for my coffe. Hotel has a fridge in my room so grabbed a few things. Surf & Turf ultra low carb While foods deli still. Chilled shrimp, salad, olives & pastrami.
Chris. Most of those rankings give Paleo liq points because it's "too restrictive" or "hard to follow". I don't really agree. But more importantly I don't think of it as a diet in the lose weight sense. To me paleo/primal is *the* human diet. As in what we are designed to eat...humans are the only species of animal that we don't refer to our natural food as out diet. Which is warped.0 -
-8 this morning. Ok, I'm done with this. On the bright side, it could make it to 20 today. We'll see.
Kim, looks like a good dinner. I understand losing some points. Lost a sleep point yesterday and no exercise points since Sunday. I'm not here to win the challenge. I'm here to win my own challenge.
Heron, gorgeous dogs.
Time to start the day.0 -
This is what my poor little car had to deal with.

One more update before I stop spamming the thread.
A little non-scale victory today. Put on a pair of my boots today with struggling and having to 'redistribute' some calf fat. LOL!!!! Good news as I have another pair that I haven't been able to wear lately because I couldn't zip them up.
Life is good!0 -
Great-looking dinner there Kim!
Im jaunting!! Right now. I am currently at the gym and while other people are watching TV and reading magazines I'm on an elliptical catching up on you guys. It took me exactly 17 minutes to read through everybody's awesomeness! What a great way to start my day!
So yeah, i'm still loving the aero press that TJ sent me. Still going strong with the whole 30. Kris: I have heard that after day 10 it's so much easier.
Heron: you're not gonna wait yourself till what? You promised Arturo not until when? Now I'm so curious!0 -
Down from 181 January 1 to 173.2. That's the power of water weight. I've also been taking pictures daily and you want to know what the difference is in 8lbs of water weight? Nothing. Nothing at all.0

-3 three this morning, SUV would not start so I had to use the big truck. Still not into cooking mode. Gotta get there fast as I have started to feel the way I used to from eating poorly. Still grazing on chocolates, need to just throw them out but they remind me of my wife who love them and could afford to eat them (5'4 - 95lbs). Well gotta start working.0

Exactly Jennifer. Well put. I also grabbed a bag of spinach last night. I have "platinum" status with Marriott so get their concierge lounge breakfast. But AJ said eat greens at every meal. So I will (plus like them)

Kim to me when the weight started really feeling heavy but I still lifted it was my favorite part of Stronglifts. I remember finishing a day and thinking that there was no way I could squat 5 more pounds the next session. When I did the next session with the extra weight it felt lighter than anything I had lifted in weeks! After that I started really looking forward to my workouts, the harder they got the better I felt. I am dying to get consistent with them again, but lately I either have to go to the gym and use the smith machine, which I dislike, or work out in my shed where my weights are. Low temps and heavy weights don't mix well, I think that is how I hurt my knee last year, so I am just biding my time and trying to maintain for now.0
-
Kevin, do you do any body weight stuff to maintain?0

Kim, those are pretty awesome meals for a hotel room! Much better than a syrupy waffle.
Kris, that's an Aeropress coffee maker. It's a super simple coffee maker that get's rid of all the negatives of a drip pot. It lets you control everything. The "bitter" that everyone complains about in black coffee is some kind of acid (sorry, I forgot the name) that comes from too much heat and too long of exposure to that heat. With the Aeropress, you don't leave it to steep long enough, and you don't use as hot of water, as a drip maker, so it takes a lot of that bite out. The best part: you can have a cup of coffee in about a minute and it cleans up stupid easy. On top of that, they're cheap. The kit is only $25 dollars and it comes with something like 1000 filters, so all you need is coffee.
Everyone that's getting the bitter cold, you could always move down South! And I don't consider Tennessee as Down South. Your state needs to touch the Gulf of Mexico, for that. It was 19* when I woke up, and that's pretty uncommon. Luckily the dew point was 4*, so nothing got frozen. It's still 25* right now(10:50am). I did see a frozen fountain, on my way to work, so that was neat.0 -
Chris, are you taking face pics, or full body?0

TJ, no matter how much I complain about this ridiculous weather, I have to have seasons.
Kim, you do know how to eat well in a hotel. Good for you getting those greens in. I'm not doing so well with making sure to eat greens other than at dinner.0 -
Jen, we have seasons! Spring, Summer, and January.0
-
Oh, and don't forget "Hurricane". That's an official season on the Gulf Coast.

Haha, this video reminded me of how I feel right now! I'm only referring to the first 5 seconds. http://youtu.be/I5TFkN55XEo0

Carol. Oops, on the typing. I meant not to weigh myself till the next carb nite.
Kim, you sure know how to eat well while traveling! And yes love those Marriott breakfast!
Chris, I've never taken body to gauge water weight but I've gained 7lb in what I hope is water weight and I can still fit comfortably in my form fitting dress. So yay for that.
This week has not been going well for me. I haven't been working out as much as I want.0 -

TJ I don't consider it a season when your house ends up in the Gulf! Nice use of the Demolition Ranch video.0
