Numbers aren't consistent across apps w/Flex connection

Hi, all!
I've used my Fitbit Flex for about 10 months now. I've had it synced with My Fitness Pal with no problems in the past (that I know of). I just changed my app to allow the tracking of steps in MFP. The problem now is that when I look at the FitBit App, the "home screen" on MFP and then the Daily Diary screen on the app, they all display different step counts as well as different adjustments and calories remaining.
Am I missing something?
Sorry if this has already been brought up - I tried to take a peek around for it.
Thanks!!

Your phone isn't going to be as accurate as the device likely for seeing steps.
I wasn't aware the steps MFP sees is used for any calculations concerning calories, merely a goal to reach for those that don't have a Fitbit or similar.
Don't follow 2 roads to the same path, just asking for aggravation.
MFP for diet and eating goals, Fitbit for fitness goals.
If you want MFP to log steps too but not as accurate, and suck up mobile battery, than go for it, but you already have a device specifically designed for that.
If you sync accounts, by the end of the day, the eating goals should be the same if you used the same deficit amount.
If Fitbit sees you burn 2500 calories in the day, and takes off 500 for eating goal.
If MFP thought you'd burn 2000 no exercise, and take off 500 for eating goal, but then correct that with Fitbit's 2500 so add another 500.
Same eating goal in the end.
But during the day that can be different if you don't have options tweaked just right, and even then, can be different.
Hence not following 2 roads.0 -
Thanks for the reply. I don't have MFP set up on my phone to track steps through my phone. I was prompted by the app when I updated it to "track my steps" on MFP and to choose my device (Fitbit) which I want my steps pulled from (rather than an app downloaded onto my phone to track steps separate from Fitbit).
The "step meter" within the diary mimics what the FitBit app says, however on the home/welcome screen of the MFP app gives me a lesser number of steps. Say, FitBit and the Diary page says 5,500 steps, the welcome screen only says 3,800 so the numbers adjust differently depending on what screen in the MFP app I am looking at.
So in the end, I'm not looking for two devices to track my steps. I'm merely looking to have an accurate read from MFP when they pull my step counts out of my Fitbit, which I have connected.0 -
I think you either found a bug, and/or it's still giving you your phone's step count, and the sync from Fitbit for step count.0
