Hi all,

This is my second attempt at reaching my goal - first time round, let's just say life got in the way, I had to have an operation, I had to care for a terminally ill family member along with a dementia sufferer, work, kids, blah blah blah...

Now, I can focus on me again, and this year I hit 30 and I have decided that I want to hit my goal for then too... I have 4months and about 2st to lose! And not just hit my goal, I want to remain there. In the past, iv done fad diets and nothing has worked until I found a local slimming group. I have found that their plan works for me, I have slowly lost 43lb to date, but now I want to get serious. That is why I decided to come back to MFP, so I can monitor what I eat and to get the help and support of those who are doing the same - after all, who on my Twitter & Facebook want to hear me go on about my weight issues day in day out!!

Sounds like you've done great so far! 28lb and 17 weeks to do it so it'll be a challenge but I get the feeling you're up for taking it on.

Glad you've found a plan that works, too many fad diets out there that don't work as they don't promote a healthier lifestyle so a lot of people seeing their good work go to waste (or should that be waist!). Anyway, hope it all goes well and good luck!

Thank you Mr B. When I decided on setting my goal, and I worked out the time frame, I was a little panicked, but then I thought, it's putting off setting goals why it's taken me this long in the first place! Iv never really set goals, nor have I ever been sure on a weight I want to be, and I still aren't quite sure on the latter, but it's something I can decide on the closer I get to the finish line
