calorie adjustment

Hi - Does anyone know anything about the calorie adjustment? Apparently I've burned about 1600 calories today. My MFP goal is to eat 1200 to lose weight, therefore I have a 400 Calorie Adjustment. Is this to STILL lose weight or maintain? I have my fit bit set to "maintain" my weight (no food plan/goal). Anyone have any insight for me? Thanks in advance. I just dont want to be eating too much and not lose weight. BTW - I haven't actually exercised today. The calories I burned are from moving around at work and home, and this is my first "full" day using it. I didn't get any adjustment yesterday and I put the fitbit on at about noon yesterday when I got it. Oh and It's a CHARGE HR! :smile:
