Lets's start out with an introduction:
I started out back in 2011 wearing a size 22! I ate junk and never exercised now 3 1/2 years, wearing a 5/6! If also became a runner doing some 5ks plus my first half marathon this past October! Like Gretchen stated my success also has been in challenges, helping others achieve their goals! In return, they have helped me achieve my goal weight.
That being said I've been in maintence since this last March BUT has drifted in and out! Currently, I'm within a few pounds of my lowest weight! When life becomes crazy boom I track on pounds!
In a few weeks I'll be relocating back to Washington State near my two kids! My daughter is expecting my first grand daughter! So being retired now, living near my grand babies will be a new experience for me! Thanks to Gretchen's Challenge I'll be able to be consistent with my food and exercise! Good luck everyone with achieving your goals!

Hi everyone,
I started out on MFP a few years ago, in fact Gretchen organised my first challenge! I started at a size UK 22 and lost 48lbs when training for a 5k charity swim but unfortunately it crept back on a few pounds each month and now I'm almost back to where I started!
I'm 31 in a few months, my size 18 jeans are a little snug, and will be thinking about having kids next year so I really need to get my weight down to make this possible.
I've lost 7.8lbs so far on this challenge which is a great start, so let the momentum continue! Good luck peeps....0 -

Nice job on your weight loss so far, take one day at a time! You can do this, if I can do this so can YOU!

Wow! What great stories you all have!
I signed up on MFP about 2 years ago. I was doing one of those "buy your food from us" diet plans. It gave me a good start but didn't really work once I started incorporating exercise. Lost about 25 pounds with that plan (December through March) then began adding in more and more exercise (first walking, then slow jogging, then boot camp training and yoga). Was a USA 22W when I first began (and that was getting snug), currently wear an 18 (normal). Have lost 51 pounds total but my weight has been pretty steady the last year or so as I've been adding in all of the exercise (stays within 10 pound range up and down). I joined this group thanks to an invite from an MFP friend for extra motivation to keep going and focusing on gaining health... it would be nice if that meant a weight loss but I'll be happy with strength gain, too.0 -
Hi, my name is Lesley. Ive been on MFP for 1052 days, and I had lost 4 1/2 stone, but last year was my downfall. I managed to maintain until my wedding in July 26th, then in September my husband became ill, and ended up in hospital for a chest drain on October 7th, and that's where my willpower went through the floor, and the bottom dropped out of our world, as we were told his melanoma from his eye had come back in his lung, and there was no cure, only a small chance of the treatment they were offering would work, and that he had months rather than years to live. We now know he has further tumours in his brain, adrenal gland and lymph glands in his chest. Needless to say, my concentration on my health has disappeared entirely in that time, and I have not weighed myself in 6 months or more, as I am scared to see what damage I've done. I am hoping to get my butt in gear and get my healthy lifestyle back, so I don't undo all my hard work....it's going to be hard, but I miss how fit I had become, and have a lot to do to get it back, but I have a husband who needs my support, and my son who needs me to be here for him for many years yet I hope. We will fight his cancer, and live each day for the moment, but I want to try and get started by joining this group and hope with support, I can keep going, even if I miss a day here and there. Intense to this challenge, but Gretchen added me, so look forward to meeting you all xx0

Hi everyone, my name is Carla. I retired almost 4 years ago and began my journey to becoming healthy. In the first year I lost 99 pounds and went from wearing a size 26W to a regular 18. I was still not at goal, but feeling good and healthy. Not sure what happened, but i definitely fell off the wagon and put 56 pounds back on and am back into a 20w. I have restarted several times, but I really need to get serious. I do not feel as well and my knees and ankles are giving me problems again. I am in Florida right now for the next 6 weeks, but plan on working out every day and eating healthy. Let's help each other stay motivated and get healthy.0

I say now that everyone indroduced themselfs, let's maybe have a challenge that would helps us all on your journy! It looks like everyone likes the idea of adding strength training - core into their workouts! Why don't we add either planks or sit-ups! Let me know what everyone thinks! Btw, I thought I befriended (mhankosk) so I just did!0

I'm up for that!! we can do both, and build up, or do both, but on alternate days? Either works for me0 -

Can I just state for the record: I hate burpees! They send my heart rate skyrocketing! We did an all burpee workout last week in boot camp (there are lots of different kinds of burpees-- go figure) and it was torture! I'm going to work on push-ups. May also try to do this ab challenge: http://30dayfitnesschallenges.com/30-day-abs-challenge/. The personal trainer who runs boot camp said it was good except she suggested a reverse crunch instead of the leg raises and adding in some supermans.
You guys are amazing!0 -
Ok, 2 days off, following Sean's fall yesterday, and no walk due to snow...I'm not risking going down and hurting myself when Sean needs me0

Well done this and keep it0 -
Hello all, I have been a little AWOL and I apologize. I did not do the extra torture this week, but have been really busy to get my elliptical training and swimming increased. I will join in with what you decide for this week. It looks like you are all going amazing.0

Been a bit lax this week. Not only purpose. But Been running round after Sean, as he had a fall in the snow last week, on his bad leg, so been on crutches. Plus we've had hospital, and got his 2nd cycle of treatment tomorrow, so no sure I'll get anything done tomorrow either..xx0
