Going to see the plastic surgeon next week!

I decided to make an appointment to have a consultation next week. I am 15 months out from surgery, two years out from the start of my journey, and I am down 208 lbs, so I thought it would be a good time. The scale isn't moving for me so much, so I feel like this is where my body is settling, even though I would like to lose another 20. That said, I have SO much excess skin, I wouldn't be surprised if it's 10-20 lbs right there. I am going to see what kind of surgery he recommends. I would like to get a tummy tuck, get my thighs and arms done, and get the boobs back! I am going to see if it's possible to do a fat transfer rather than get a breast lift or implants. I will definitely share what he suggests and any other info I get because I know it's something that a lot or people think about after weight loss surgery!

That is exciting. I am interested to hear. I know some who have had it done and have had 10-20 lbs removed. My arms are an issue and was before the surgery. I am hoping the rest will be ok but I have another 85 to go. I would be interested in hearing about cost too. Anything covered by your insurance? Maybe I can afford it when the kids are all out of college LOL Good luck.

Oooooh!!! That is so exciting!!! I, too, would love to hear what they have to say. I have done MINIMAL research on fat transfer and my findings indicate that when you do a fat transfer that shape cannot be guaranteed as many of the fat cells will dissolve and is typically only done for small areas such as lips and cheeks. I too want my "girls" back up where they should be, but I'm not too keen on putting a foreign object in my body. I would want to know if fat transfer is a viable option for that! But if it isn't an option, I would have to weigh the pros and cons of implants. I hope you get great news!!!

I too would love to have all those things done. Look forward to hearing what you find out including prices.

From what I understand, the only thing that is possibly covered by insurance is skin removal from the stomach, however, the surgeon I am consulting with doesn't do skin removal without the tummy tuck. He feels strongly that the results just aren't satisfactory and that people who do just skin removal will not be happy. He has had a lot of WLS patients, and my surgeon recommends him, so I will hear him out about this. My friend is having a lower body lift in June, and she said the skin removal is covered and her out of pocket is about 8,000. I have a feeling the lower body lift might be the way I will have to go as well.

I have heard the same things about fat transfer being inconsistent. It would be ideal if it could work! I will let you know what he says about it.

Oh wow, cant wait until you report back! I have a special savings fund for if and when my excess comes off. I want to do all you do and combine it with a face lift. Then I guess I'll be good for another 50,000 miles.
