Calories from my fitbit steps goal

Does anyone know how to "get credit" from the goals I set/reach on my fitbit? If I reach 10,000 steps, is there a number I can use to plug that into calories burned? At this point I am just guestimating time, but there's got to be a better way!

Is your fitbit linked to MFP?

I would simply link your fitbit and MFP accounts and it will allocate them for you regardless of how many steps you take. You may have to adjust your MFP activity level, but it works well for many.

As the other said link them and let the Fitbit make adjustments because even if you could enter something manually, you still wouldn't know the true calorie burn. 10,000 steps of light walking is a lot less calories than 10,000 steps of a fast run. And most people move at lots of different rates throughout the day and the Fitbit takes all those changes in intensity into account for a much more accurate burn. I suppose you COULD look at the Fitbit dashboard and figure out a calorie amount, but why when linking them does it for you automatically?

I had problems linking and syncing for the first couple days. I found out that instead of connecting the accounts through your smartphone. I went to an actual computer and logged in and connected it there. After I did that the data synced over correctly and so do the meals. As it states use my fitness pal to log your food only or you will double log the food. Also Myfitness pal has more food barcodes registered so it is a lot easier. I also turn on the negative calorie setting as I plan on wearing my fitbit daily. Anyone up for challenges please add me.

Thanks, all! I will now endeavor to sync the two (wish me luck!).
