Fitbit app or MFP?

I have just received my Fitbit HR (Christmas present from Husband!) yesterday...i have paired the device with MFP (which I have used pre-Fitbit). I like the dashboard from fitbit and as a result, I wondered if it is better to use it in conjunction with MFP or just alone?

I've read that the food and calorie logging on here is better (I've never tried fitbit's). I also make sure to log my exercise on here, when I use the exercise function on my HR, that way it's not double counting the calories burned. At least that's my understanding - someone please correct me if I'm wrong.0

I use MFP for my good logging, because I already have everything in there. For most everything else I use FitBit. I like the social part of MFP so I will never full switch to FitBit.0

If you log exercise on MFP, Fitbit will back out those calories. I do not log exercise at all on MFP, I just let fitbit do all the work. This works for me since I do all step based exercise. If you swim, or cycle, for example you would definitely want to log that.
From what I have heard the food database in fitbit is not as great as MFP. Plus I am loving all my friends I have here! It makes this journey so much more communal and keeps me accountable.0
