Going gluten free to hopefully help my stomach problem

My name is Lori, I have suffered from IBS since I was about 13 years old. My symptoms had been fairly well managed the last few years, but starting acting up again about 6 months ago. After doing some research, and learning about the low fodmap diet, I decided to try cutting out gluten, as well as cutting back on lactose. I also eat fairly clean: as much organic as I can afford and I make most things from scratch. Any tips for a newbie to gluten free eating are greatly appreciated!
I am married and have a 2 year old son. Fortunately, my son is the least picky eater I have ever met, but getting my husband on board with some of the gf food might be trickier! He is trying to be supportive though.

If you cook most things from scratch, just substitute GF ingredients for wheat flour. Tons of sites on the interwebz can help.

I have a gluten intolerence. After several years of having attacks, I ended up in the hospital. It was not the intolerence that was causing these attacks it was my gull bladder. The gull bladder is known to mask issues with IBS, Gluten attacks and a few other things. Get that checked out. It might be the root of your problem. Its now been a few months since I have had it out and this is the best I have felt in 2 years. Good luck.0
