Hi. My name is delk (a play on my real name) and I have only just started juicing and was surprised to see a group here, but why no activity since September of 2014. Is anyone still on here?

I lurk. I want to start up because I like to juice but need a beginning point.

I'm on, I have just had a lot going on for a few months. I actually just watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead 2 for the first time last week and I think it is even better than the first one.

I've done two 3 day cleanses and have just stared a 30 day reboot. I too have watched both fat sick and nearly dead docs. It's been difficult, but I think worth it in the end.

I started a 20 day fast on January 12. Broke fast on Feb 1. Now I'm eating a plant based diet free of meat and dairy for 40 days. It is also mostly free of processed oils and simple carbohydrates. After that I may include small amounts of meat and dairy but no more than 10% my daily caloric intake.

My afterthoughts on fasting. I think 3 days is sufficient to gain great benefits. 7 days is probably the most anyone really needs.

More than 10 days and then your doing it for spiritual renewal or because you want fast unsustainable weight loss.

20 days helped me gain some spiritual balance regarding my current unhealthy, meat and dairy heavy, processed convenience food diet and to the healthy clean wholefoods diet I want to adapt and maintain for the rest of my life. I spent a lot of that time while fasting researching foods and nutrition and I think I'm off to a really good start with a concrete game plan.

MFP is great for keeping me on track

    I <3 complex carbs!
