Plateau Insanity

I feel like I'm going crazy. I had surgery almost 8 months ago. I've lost 63 lbs. however I've been in a plateau for 2 months. I've only lost 1 lb in 8 weeks. The last 3 weeks I've literally been the exact weight to the ounce.
I count calories. I exercise. I do 10,000 steps a day plus working out at the gym. I've talked to my team and I'm told to exercise more. I even did acupuncture for weight loss. Any help or ideas?
On a separate note, since surgery I've been constipated. I constantly have to take fiber. Does anyone else have this problem? Thank you.

Plateau's suck! I had luck in going back to basics... Check out the 5 Day Pouch Test. Started a liquid diet for 2-3 days and then introducing foods back in.. Always protein first. Get your water in and that will help with the constipation. I hit a plateau again myself. I am a grazer and was sabotaging my weight loss with my love of all things bad for me...
Stay the course and you will get through this plateau.0 -
I hit a plateau at 9 months out that lasted for about 4 months. At my 1 year checkup the nut told me I wasn't eating enough, 800 calories a day, and had put myself in starvation mode. And I thought that was a myth! On her advice I started upping the calories, got to 1,000 a day and the weight started dropping again, very, very slowly, but it was moving and in the right direction. You touched base with your team and they said more exercise, so your calories must be where they want them. In that case I would up water, lower calories, make sure to get all the protein in and see what happens.0

First take a look at your diet to see that you have been logging and weighing, getting enough protein and water, Are you eating too much? Too little? If the diet looks good, try and change it up. high calorie days with lower ones. Mix up your macros: maybe decrease your carbs. Change up your exercise or the intensity. If you walk, maybe try to sprint for a minute, then retun to walking and repeat. Try doing a diiferent exercise routine. Good luck.0

Thank you. That's some great advice.
My calories are at 1000 a day. I use to be 800 but wasn't losing and went to 1000 at the advice of my doctor. Still not losing. I do 64 ounces of water a day and around 70 g of protein a day.
I think I'll try changing up my diet again with some of the suggestions.
Has anyone had a resting metabolic test done? Was it beneficial? Thanks0 -
My 2 cents... with all of that exercise, you may need to boost your cals. My suggestion..... increase to 1100 or 1200... see what happens. I have seen multiple posts from folks who had a similar problem and found adding cals. helped (I know ti seems counterintuitive, but it seems to work). Best of luck-- keep us posted!0

Thaeda your very correct! I was just thinking about that today after I swam this morning realizing how many Cal. I burned. And I am planning another bike ride later on. So yeh you can underfeed your body so much it hangs on the everything. You do have to feed the machine. Very sound advise!0
