Different pain in abdomen is this normal

Hi, I had my surgery on 1/19 and pain wise I've felt great, just sore but not unbearable. I haven't even needed pain meds. I've been taking it easy and even have my mom here for the month helping with my 4 kids. However, I've had a new pain start that I haven't felt before today and I'm wondering if this is normal. It's above my belly button and to the left. It almost feels like a strained or pulled muscle. It hurts if I bend over or get up and it occasionally feels like a stabbing pain but more often feels like a dull ache. I was attempting some cleaning today and I used my left leg to kick backwards at my large ottoman to move it out of the way. About an hour after I did that was when I noticed it started. So I'm wondering if I might have strained a muscle or if this is a normal feeling. Also I had my upper GI yesterday and all looked perfectly normal and dr said I'm healing nicely. Also, I'm feeling good other than this and I'm eating fine and everything is sitting well.

For me, the incision that in above & to the left of my belly button is the area where my larger incision is. That is where they cut through muscle or muscle sheath and took everything out. If that is how yours is, you can anticipate getting the soreness or even short stabbing pain with some movements for a few weeks. It does go away.0

Interesting. My surgical scars are opposite. I have a two inch incision to RIGHT of my belly button where surgeon cut through muscle to pull out remaining stomach. Every surgeon must have a different preference which side they use. I am 2.5 wks out and had stopped oxycodone after one week but started having tenderness at this site on the right a few days ago. Most days it doesn't bother me but if I overdo it on treadmill or something I am definitely aware of it!0

Thank you for your responses. That makes me feel so much better knowing it's normal and to be expected. My largest cuts are to the right but I have two smaller ones to the left of my belly button. Today is a bit better but still a deep internal ache, but bearable. I just need to really watch my movements because just when I start feeling better I overdo it and feel sore again.
Oh and so sorry about the double post of this thread. My phone's internet connection stopped as I tried to post so I went back and posted it again. Then I found out I posted it twice but couldn't figure out how to delete one of them. Sorry.0
