In addition to Superhuman Games in June which is a 5x20min round endurance competition involving things like flipping tyres, rowing, obstacle course and lifting weights I have just agreed to another 2 comps in 2015.
June 28th I am going to do my 1st weightlifting comp. I am just waiting for the application forms to be available. There is a group of us going from my gym.
And in october I am doing Monster Race - one of those muddy obstacle course races - 5k of mud and obstacles.
I will get fit and in shape this year if it kills me

Possibly the title isnt news so much. The weightlifting comp is a developmental powerlifting competition for people who have done less than 5 competitions so should be a great experience. Monster race sounds fun and am 'bravely' doing it alone (read stupidly)0

Naw, just gives you the opportunity to make new friends. If it is anything like what I've heard about the Warrior Dash and Tough Mudders, fighting insane obstacles together makes for fast friends.
And kudos on the developmental competition. Should be an awesome learning experience.

My sis is contemplating doing Monster but she was dithering so I just went for it

You are so British! LOL I can literally almost hear your voice in my head. Disgrace? Rubbish. You complete, and you're already a winner in my book, even if you can't lift an ounce over your current... And I hear you on not waiting on others to get up off their duffs to do something!0

Lol at being British. I'm a bit common with a hodge podge of northern and west country so not that plummy brit accent you are imagining. More loike a farrrrrmerrr.
I'm going to be pleased just to get through them with my anxiety and social issues tbh. Did hit a 102kg PB deadlift today though

Awesome on the new PB! That is so cool. And I don't think typical Brit, per se, but since my guy spent about 8 years there, I hear so many of the colloquial phrases and a slight bit of the different accents, so it cracks me up. I can't tell you the number of times I hear him say "Typical Brit..." during TV or movies. LOL My perspective has definitely changed from years back!0
