i am single because i got divorced in 2013 then had a relationship of sorts (the friend with benefits kind) that ended in november 2014 after which I've decided that before going for another relationship with someone i would start a relationship with myself. I've quit smoking, started eating well and registered at gym. A companion to go out sometimes would be nice but i don't prevent myself from doing what i like even if I'm alone :-)0

I'm single because I haven't found the one to spend the rest of my life with yet. I thought I did, long running relationship ended about 5 years ago. She couldn't except my job and working requirements. Now perhaps I choose to be single and mingle. Have great friends that I run with, one that I could definitely spend more time with in a dating situation. We will see how 2015 goes.0

I'm single because I don't mind being single and I'm not going to take my last ex back. When you use your daughter as an excuse for a break in the relationship and then start dating another woman a week later, you lied and I won't accept that.0

if you don't mind me asking...what is your job and working requirements?0 -

Or hitman... She didn't like the smell of corpses melting in acid in the bathroom.

I'm so glad that you all replied. I've definitely been feeling all alone in my singledom. It's a pretty miserable feeling sometimes.0 -

Funny you should say corpses. I am around them all day. I am a coroner with a sheriff's department. My schedule rotates every 6 months (Days off as well as times worked) and I am on call for the complicated recoveries like having to be flown into an area and dropped off by a long cable dangling a hundred feet below a helicopter. It was difficult on the relationship. I could tell you the title of the latest porn flick I star in too, but then I would have to drop you in a vat of acid afterwards. Any takers?0

At least, you're on the "right" side of the law, I'm sure ladies can appreciate that.

That does sound like an exciting job tho
Don't care much for acid baths unfortunately, I'm struggling in getting my body less acidic as it is so I'll pass on that one but if you feel the need to share your porn star struggles I'm sure no one will stop you haha!!!0 -
The reason I'm still single? I'm extremely picky.0

I'm a commitment phobe. My job comes first so I need a partner that's willing to move around as necessary. It's easier to be single than deal with moving multiple people anyway. Basically any time I start liking someone I immediately sabotage it out of fear that they're going to impact my future.0

After 2 failed long term relationships each over 6 yrs long from infidelity. I honestly have given up trying to date in 3 yrs haven't had one date that I actually enjoyed or would want to see that person again. I have decided to just do me and if God sends an honest, trusting, faithful person my way so be it, if not oh well.0

I am single because I seem to attract the men that don't have their life together and can't seem to move forward until they do... Meaning, they have no problem stringing me along and whatnot, but are not ready for a real commitment. I put on quite a bit of weight after my last relationship and so I am not as confident as I once was. Hoping to lose some weight and meet the right person so I can stop watching all of my nieces and nephews get married and start lives before me! Ugh! Lol.
Feel free to add me! I will motivate and support in return for the same. Haha!0 -
I'm single because my ex left me for his ex so they could have their "family" back since he has a little boy by her. 9 days after he broke up with me, I find out I'm pregnant by him. God must think I'm really strong, because He has loaded my shoulders up with quite the load.0

There's no good reason why I'm single. I'm just not meeting the right people for me0

I'm single because I lose myself in a relationship. I take much better care of myself when I make myself a priority instead of the person I'm dating. I'm a few months out of a relationship of a few years in which I compromised my values over and over for the sake of the relationship and when it felt 'icky', i ate. Until I can mend that part of my personality, I'm better off single. I'm also extremely introverted and don't meet people or befriend people easily. If it weren't for online dating I wouldn't date at all.0

I'm single b/c I live in a podunk town with a dating pool that's more like a dry lake bed than a pool. Plus, I don't drink and who wants to hang out with guy who doesn't drink!? . .I sure don't. .Also. . I'm 45 and tinder stops working when you hit 45.0

Simple, being in your 40’s with metal braces! Within two weeks of having my braces I had someone say (female) “when do you get all that gear out of your mouth” at least she was honest. Thanks I’m more self-conscious and choose not to even bother dating til they come off.0

I'm single because I like that lifestyle . I am alone but not lonely & I don't want the financial or emotional complications of marriage.0

Honest maybe but rude is more like it. Don't let that one opinion put you off from dating until you get the braces off, she doesn't speak for all women.

I've met people I enjoy spending time with (although I'm a pretty amiable sort that's not difficult to achieve), but have yet to find someone who I'm excited about and with whom I just want to share little snippets of my day.
It might happen, it might not. I'm not going to worry overmuch about it just now.
It's just WEIRD dating right now. That's the thing. I only went on a handful of dates before being with my ex - and we were together for 10 years. So going on dates and dating? It's a different world.
Pretty much this, it's been longer than 6 months for me though (and was longer than 10 years). I guess I'm just on a journey of figuring myself out after spending my entire adult life with someone.0 -

Ok so I have 6 months left to finally check it out...0 -
It's been a while since I've been in these parts...
A few reasons, but I think the biggest one is that I've moved (last I counted) 10 times in the past 9 years, which includes 5 different countries. A couple were small moves, but a move is still a move. I can barely hold onto friends let alone have a relationship. It's tough, and very draining, especially mentally. Within that time I did have one relationship which was for 2.5 years, which was the only relationship I've ever had.
Also, I had some bad depression which has caused me to gain back all of the weight I lost on here a couple years ago (was down about 80 lbs, gained it all back ) so now I'm fat again. I've finally decided to try (key word being try) to stop moving, so I've been making a big effort to make some friends. Only the gods know what's in store but I'm working, again, on accepting myself for who I am while trying to lose the weight again and maybe I can finally have some luck in the dating department0 -
Honestly I don't know. I've been single for a year and half now. This is very new for me, I've always been able to meet people and usually am in a relationship of some sort. Recently I can meet guys but it doesn't go anywhere...
I don't mean for that to sound conceited. It is very upsetting since there have been a couple promising guys but they lead no where long term.0 -
This ^^^^^
I can't seem to meet the right one. :-(0 -

I have always been single. I don't think that I have anything to offer for anyone and I just never seem to meet anyone. I guess that's because I don't go out pretty much ever. I walk my dog (socialize in dog parks, fun people there!), go to work (new workplace, nice people) and stay home. So no chance to meet anyone new. And yeah, right now I'm not happy with my weight. I have kind of commitment phopia, but it's not as bad after I got my dog last year But I guess it's just the fact that I have always been alone. I've been told that I'm actually too independent.
I did have one former colleague who admitted having crush on me. The feeling wasn't mutual, mostly cause eventhough he was a nice guy, he never really listened to me and just was too desperate. And that something justa wasn't there. Hard to explain, but I pretty much got uneasy with all the messages he sometimes sent over night (when I woke up, thet might have been over 10 messages on messenger waiting for me...) plus his use of alcohol. So yes, I guess I'm picky.0
