3x a week or every other day?

I have been doing the work outs every other day but it sounds from what some of you write that you are doing 3x a week.

Am I supposed to do only 3x a week and have a longer break or does it not matter?!

i went every other day when i was in a groove, but it wasn't a plan or anything. just 'did i lift yesterday?' took up less space in my brain than 'did i lift yesterday, and if not then how many yesterdays has it been since i did, and/or if not then did i lift on all the yesterdays of the past 3 non-yesterdays, or didn't i?'

the extra day is nice for getting extra recovery time. i know that. but i was never very organized or scheduled with when i lifted because my whole life isn't really like that.

I was doing every other day but then I started to get back into running. I found the extra rest day really helped with my recovery.

I "lift" just three days a week as the programs have called for but will admit to doing other things on days off. Sometimes I will catch a Grit Strength class on one of the two in a row rest days. Others are work stuff, like fright day, though I'm switching to lift on freight day as I found doing stuff before and after made for three days in a row and I got tired.

I started out doing every other day. It worked great for me for a while, but then it started getting annoying to me to go to the gym on the weekends.

Now, I lift MWF. It works great because my husband knows the schedule without having to ask, it's a no brainer for me on what my lift days are, and I only have to go to the gym during the week, which leaves weekends for other activities/sports. I also feel like I get more out of it because I have two days off from lifting every weekend, so I get a little break every week.

Great, I will do 3 times a week. I was doing every other day but now it is taking longer with the longer rest breaks 3x week will be more manageable.

    Thanks everyone

I do 3x a week and on other days I do taekwondo 2x a week and jog once a week. I have mine in a diary to make sure I spread it out. It is now an essential part of my life now.

I'm doing SL on M/W/F and swimming or doing some other form of cardio on my non-lifting days. I'm not working at the moment though and won't be starting my new job until the 9th of March so I've been getting antsy staying still for too long, which is why I'm doing all the cardio. I'm sure once I'm working on my feet all day I'll be more restful on my rest days, though I've really been enjoying swimming lately so I may stick with that, but we'll see.

I lift Sun, Tues, Thurs and run Mon, Weds, Fri; I need Saturday to sleep in and recover! I am at the end of two weeks with no breaks (cause I took two rest days in one week, so I've been catching up) and it has completely exhausted me! I can't wait to finally rest tomorrow! Just goes to show how much I really do need those rest days, especially as the weight increases!
