Who is ready? Who is ever ready for this? Think you're tough? Think you've got a mind of steel? Not so sure? This will be one of the tougher ones yet. Are you In?

  • John, I'm weak, I admit it. i HAVE to have the scale. I know it's ridiculous but it's the way it is. Maybe later this year after I get a few more months of doing the right thing I can give the no scale thing a try.

John, you are too brave for me. Just remember that everything you want is on the other side of fear. Do as I say, not as I do! :)

    Good luck.

Too much of a change for my current goals. I'll stick with once per week. With monthly girth measurements and pictures. I know more often is dangerous. Less often equally so, esp. as I tweak intake.

That said I plan on going to monthly once I get to a maintenance phase.

Would not be easy, but might just be the break that I need. Darn near addicted to that thing, and just can't knock it off. The question is how are you going to run it John?

All Righty Then! If you're in then take that final measurement on the scale and write it down. Take front and side pics print them and post them to your mirror. Write your number on them. The pics are there to 'Calibrate your Eye' , and to ease your suffering when you are missing your data fix. Go ahead look as long as you want, get a chair meditate on / about them. Feel free to talk to them, (might want to close the door first)

This is of course an Honor System Challenge, do your best if you slip on the terrain reach out here for sympathetic ear.

I did my final weigh Saturday at Mark's house and packed my scale away when I got home!

Scale is gone. Now Kelly can't weigh herself when she is here

Yes Mark I know I am a scale nut! But I think I like the measuring tape better

I am not tough enough to do this right now. I am not worthy...I am not worthy... Hats off to all of you.

Ummm, Kelly, I took my measurements last night, hence why I am back to posting. My poor boyfriend got to see my old eating disordered brain come to light. It was ugly. However, I feel the tape measure is better than the scale for me. Gulp!

    (*) GO TEAM NO-SCALE!!! (*)

Well I am having an internal struggle since yesterday. It goes like this: I feel great... I should step on the scale! No!! My pants are looser and I am in a top that has never fit... I should step on the scale! No!! I took my measurements and saw some change! I should step on the scale! No!!!

Needless to say my scale is going away this weekend and I am thankful I am too lazy to go from one room to another, climb up, retrieve the scale go back to the bathroom so I can fudge and then go put it back! Mark is having way too much of a good laugh out of this!

Kris - you are tough enough, good enough, worthy enough. You are beautiful and unique because you are you! This isn't a challenge worth fighting this time for you

I have thought about taking a look, but realized that my weight has most likely not changed so why bother :smiley Going to stick to measuring tape, yes I am. I hope.

Why can I see having to store both scales at my mothers in her she'd so we can't access them?

Kelly, Well aren't you the sweetest. Thank you so much for the beautiful words. I needed to hear that and it made me teary eyed. I just copied them and added them to a note on my computer:) As for, " It goes like this: I feel great... I should step on the scale! No!! My pants are looser and I am in a top that has never fit... I should step on the scale! No!! I took my measurements and saw some change! I should step on the scale! No!!!" Can't tell you how many times I have had the same debate. There have been times when I have been able to step outside myself and see how my brain and the scale can cause all kinds of problems. Those great days when you are feeling light in spirit and body, so you step on and the number changes everything.

Woohoo Mark! Way to go staying strong!!!

Although I have not committed to doing the no-scale thing, I have not stepped on it for two days. I pulled it out several times, but stopped myself. Ahhhhh:)

Kris, I take most things one day at a time these last few months, sometimes half days, others hours. You are giving me way too much credit. I just have to walk farther than Kelly does  The scale was seriously giving me mental issues anyway.

The best part is when I make the 50 mile drive to town each Friday, Kelly IS smaller, and chipper, and smiling just because I am there. Such a doll.

Glad you are feeling better Kris! 6 months ago I had resigned myself to never getting the weight off. I went thru each holiday thinking... Am happy as long as I get thru the holiday at either the same weight or smaller. Then I met Mark and I realized I could get it off, no matter what my mom said about getting weight off at 40 Lol! And here I am! I am insanely more active now, feel ever so much better.

Love my boys but love my weekends with Mark. And he's smiling cuz he is on my doorstep  each Friday!

Once you get past the cravings informational freedom is a positive motivator, and the introspection process during the 'cravings' might lead to meditation. Can be very positive.

I am finding that when I want to check the scale... I try my new smaller clothes and notice how loose they are already becoming! That is enough incentive to just keep on the path I am on.
