Just came across this - the PCOS Nutrition Center posted it on facebook. I thought some of you could relate!

http://pcos.about.com/od/pcos101/fl/10-Things-Women-With-PCOS-Are-Tired-Of-Explaining.htm

My favorite thing is being told to "relax" by friends. I had a nurse friend tell me that she had a patient who had FOUR kids even with PCOS so I shouldn't be discouraged. I'm not discouraged. I'm realistic.

that I should eat moderately by doctors,,,,hmmmmm yes tried that for years,,,,gained weight until a lady doctor who specialised in PCOS told me a few things about my condition.

2nd thing isn't so much explaining, but battling. When I go into any grocery food shop or eat out at a restaurant and have to think carefully what foods i'm allowed to choose. Its sooooo hard when your faced with thousands of high sugar products and recipes.

That seems like the way way watered down version... Forgive me for saying, but I face far worse issues that the way these are worded. I'm having a bit of an awful day, though, so I think I might be more negative than I should be...

That was probably a bit more negative than you intended, but I agree with the underlying sentiment. It does seem rather watered down. Perhaps it wasn't what you and I expected? I wasn't expecting the actual explanations for the items (or at least those not being the only thing), but rather comments on the questions/comments we have to explain, like who we often have to explain them to and when, etc. Of course, my issue is most often less the what I have to explain (over and over again), but rather who I have to explain them to (the weirdest is always having to explain to medical professionals, including doctors, what PCOS is and why I'm on Metformin, even though I'm not Diabetic).

Why don't we build our own list? It can include improved or otherwise modified versions of what's been linked. :) (Probably would be a good idea to make a new thread for that, so this one isn't hijacked.)

That sounds fabulous. If you want to start it, I'll chime in.

I'll try to calm down my negativity, but to be honest, today has been a really rough day personally, and the start of an even worse week...

I agree with you both - it is definitely watered down. It's definitely not a comprehensive list. For me personally some of these topics are things that bug the day lights out of me, and I thought some other ladies could relate. Figured it could be a jumping off point if people needed to vent. Sorry it was a bit of a disappointment! Feel free to add her if you want, but I understand starting a different post :)

No worries, it has proven to be a good jumping off point. :D

Not a disappointment at all!! Just seemed a bit more mild that those of us here would say in our own voices while describing our own experiences and our own frustrations.
