My worst problems.

All these symptoms suck. The worst ones would be, the skin tags, thinning hair, and discoloration around my neck and ankles. What did you all do for these problems, and did it help?

The skin discoloration is a sign of insulin resistance. The best way to deal with it is to minimize your sugar and refined carb intake and reduce your starch intake.

For the skin tags, you can either clip them off with sharp nail clippers, or put apple cider vinegar on a cotton ball and put the cotton ball on the tag overnight for a few nights. It should turn color, then fall off.

For thinning hair, you can try -- http://wellnessmama.com/3593/hair-growth-serum-recipe/ -- I also make my own shampoo (http://wellnessmama.com/3701/natural-shampoo/), and use Clary Sage and Rosemary (two of the essential oils from the hair growth serum) in it, along with other essential oils that help the skin. In the long run, fixing your insulin resistance should help with the thinning hair issue, and elevated insulin is the usual cause of elevated testosterone, and elevated testosterone is the usual cause of thinning hair (so, lower insulin = lower testosterone).

Nothing helped my thinning hair. My testosterone levels were on the high end of normal, but not abnormal. I just shaved my head and started wearing a bonded hair piece. I got tired of looking in the mirror and feeling disgusting. I know that isn't the answer for most, but there are also hair fibers and sprays that can cover the thinning spots.

@howimetyourmegan‌ Just to let you know, but starting Metformin AND dropping to a low carb, high fat, moderate protein way of eating at the instruction of my endocrinologist my skin discolorations have almost all faded and my skin tags have mostly stopped forming. I have a number of them I will have to remove now, but having no more is amazing!

I haven't noticed any change to my hair falling out more so lately (my fiance complains that it gets in EVERYTHING), but I've honestly not been paying attention to it closely...
