Track my T-25 exercise using Fitbit Charge HR?

Hey all,

I recently purchased a Fitbit Charge HR. I plan on starting the T-25 workout program tonight. Would my Fitbit be able to track this exercise? If so, do I just click "Track Exercise" on my Fitbit APP or hold the Track Exercise button on my actual Fitbit? Is there a better way?

Also, for Charge HR owners, should the HR be pretty accurate for this?

Thanks so much!

Following along as I'm about to start Insanity on Monday and am hoping that my Charge HR will be pretty accurate for it.

I just bought the Charge HR as well, and I also do T25. Curious to see what others say. Tomorrow I'm going to put on my heart rate monitor and test it out by comparing the two when I do the work out. Will let you know my results. Today I did a less impact workout-a walking video. I put both on and my heart rate monitor was only 18 calories higher than my charge.

Thank you for the helpful response!

Looks like it can sort of be hit or miss but as long as I find the right spot on my wrist/arm it should be pretty accurate.

I'll give it a shot tonight.

Good luck to the others that posted in this thread. I would really appreciate to see your results if you wouldn't mind posting them.

    Thanks all!

I ended up doing a Jillian Michael's video with the fiance instead of T-25. But I made sure to track the workout. I think it tracked it pretty well overall and I'm happy. There were a few instances where it lost the HR (I checked a lot during the workout). I'd give it a B+ overall and, again, I'm pretty pleased with it.

Also - for those not familiar with these videos it includes weight lifting, abs and cardio so my HR wasn't going to be too high during it. Will probably start T-25 next week and can post those results if anyone is interested.

The farther away you are from steady-state aerobic cardio (same HR for 2-4 min) - the less accurate it will be for HRM.

If doing lifting properly which is anaerobic and opposite of steady-state - badly inflated calorie burn using HRM formula.
    Best to manually log it.

I did a T25 workout using my charge HR and my old heart rate monitor. My heart rate monitor acted up the first part of the work out (too high number) then got it working but overall it was only 32 cals different

heybales - You bring up a very good point thank you. Probably not best/accurate to use it for the Jillian Michaels videos. Would probably work much better for T-25 (although still maybe not perfectly accurate).

skinny4me2be - That's awesome! Thanks for updating me. Sounds pretty accurate to me. I think I'll use the Charge HR next when I begin T-25.
