Walking Event

Hello fellow NS bloggers! I only posted my own stuff a few times on the NS website, but I followed many others. I have been a big fan of MFP and recently started using it again when I started NS.
I have been having great success on NS and have lost 28.2 pounds in five weeks. I am still a long way off, but a big part of my success is my walking program. Since groups have the ability to plan an event I thought I would start a monthly tradition if there are any walkers in our group.
At the end of every month I will have post a walking event, specifically a self timed 5k. Walking incurs no real expenses and if you can find 15 minutes in your day, you can train! After results are posted by the members, I will have a leaderboard set up in this discussion board.
Rules:
1) Track your distance and time as best you can. 5k is equivalent to 3.1 miles.
2) Submit your results on this discussion board.
3) Have fun!
Pretty simple. I will post benefits to walking daily as well as my own sample plan to show everyone where I started and where I am now.
Let me know if you have any suggestions.
