Limited Joint Mobility Complications

Seems I'm starting to get LJM in one of my fingers. Going to start PT soon and get into a different doc (other than my general ortho) to deal with this and try to stop progression. I also get a lot of tendonitis issues. Anyone else?

I've had some mobility issues, but not exactly that. For me, upper body has the longest history of problems.
-Shoulder separations and dislocations, mostly on left. I've had surgery on the left shoulder after 12 anterior dislocations. No dislocations since surgery. I do not blame this on diabetes since my non-diabetic brother has had the same surgery for the same reason.
-Undiagnosed and untreated trigger finger in left middle finger. It isn't bad enough that I worry about it at this point. I can't say if this is diabetes related or not.
-Thoracic outlet syndrome on the right side. Physical therapy helped, but it is likely to recur at some point in the future. Again, I can't say that this is diabetes related. Research suggests that diabetics are more likely to develop thoracic outlet syndrome, but there hasn't been any conclusive reason identified. Correllation is known, but causation is unknown.0 -
I've had trigger finger in 5 fingers - had trigger release surgery since shots didn't help one bit. The doctor stopped asking me if I wanted the shot after the first two fingers and we just went straight to surgery. I've also had tendonitis in left wrist - another surgery due to lack of shot working - and carpal tunnel in one wrist as well as another surgery to fix it. Sometimes I think my hands are revolting against me, but since the last trigger release, they seem to be cooperating.......for now. Good luck with the physical therapy and I hope the specialist can find you some relief.
Diabetics and women are most susceptible to trigger finger, so I had a double whammy on that one. Doctor couldn't pinpoint the cause of the tendonitis in my wrist since I didn't fit the normal reasons. We never established if diabetes played a role or not, but it is a possibility. As for the carpal tunnel, I blame that one on technology.......as I sit and type on the computer I sit in front of for 9 hours a day.0 -
I've had trigger finger in 3 fingers (definitely a diabetic thing I hear), frozen shoulder and surgery for that (another diabetic thing), I've had carpal tunnel and surgery for that, and I've had tendinitis in both elbows (cortisone shots and PT helped that), but having it again in one elbow and jumping on it early to halt it's progression. Now I'm having LJM in the middle finger of my right hand and triggering and got a steroid injection for the trigger yesterday. I'll start PT for the LJM soon. Diabetic doc said we are definitely prone to all these things I've listed. UGH0
