Being vegan on holiday

Hey guys, I'm going away this summer to Crete. It will be my first holiday abroad being a vegan and I'm a little worried I'm going to struggle eating out (I find it hard enough in the UK!). Has anyone got any tips? I'm going self catering so breakfasts and lunches shouldn't be an issue, its mainly eating out on a night. Has anyone been to Crete? Thanks in advance!

Hey, I've been to Crete 3 times before but never as a vegan, so my advice might not be the best.
Depending on where you stay (Crete is big), there might be a vegan-friendly restaurant near. Just checkout HappyCow: http://www.happycow.net/europe/greece/crete/
In "normal" restaurants you should be able to get grilled vegetables, olives, (garlic) bread, maybe pizza marinara, greek salad without feta. In my experience, Greek people are extremely friendly and if you tell them what you can/can't eat, they will do everything to satisfy you.
It would be nice if you reported back after your holiday!
