Halfway to goal

Just some encouragement for those PCOS insulin resistant sisters. I just broke my halfway to goal mark at 55 pounds lost. It took a year and a half, and many changes to the low carb diet along the way, but I made it.

I'm now following ketogenic at less than 20 carbs, and my macros are 5% carb/25% protein/ 70%fat. My blood panels have been excellent, and I'm on NO meds. I'm also 44, and my family is now grown, so I don't need to take anything for fertility.

My only advice to those that are attempting to drop weight is be persistent, and keep trying. It took me 15 years to find what works for my body. I'm now at a weight I haven't seen since my oldest child was born in 1992.

From here on out, I'm in uncharted territory, and its scary and exciting all at once. I went from marriage to pregnancy fairly quickly, and gained 40 I never lost again. Goal is 10 pounds less than when I married, so every day from here on out is something I haven't experienced for over 23 years.

That is amazing and inspirational. I'm close to where you are...for the most part. I don't think I'm halfway exactly, but that is hard to know without a firmly set end goal. But I'm with you on the uncharted territory for most of the last 20 or so years! It's taken me several years to get here, too, and my lower carb journey really only began this year!
