How have you kick-started your weight-loss? I'm open to all kinds of new ideas! Currently cutting back on carbs while increasing protein... I'm averaging 10k steps daily, and participate in daily/weekly/& weekend challenges via fitbit (Best day was #fitbitgoaldaychallenge yesterday)!

Hands-down, the best weight-loss advice I ever received was to read the Sexypants post: http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p10

I recently experienced a plateau and then WHOOSH loss. I did increase my protein but the key might just have been patience. Know that your body is working it out. There are a lot of factors at play; just because your weight remains the same does not mean you are not losing fat. If you are logging accurately and eating the recommended amount, it will happen eventually.
I gave myself pep talks. I could SEE my heart health improving via my Charge HR. I knew what I was eating was good for my body. I kept with my plan and was rewarded, eventually with a quick weight drop. Did I lose a few pounds of fat in the last week? No. I lost them while I was plateauing, but I was carrying weight in water, glycogen and waste.
This has not been the fast weight loss I want, but it's the healthy weight loss I need.0 -
How long has it been since you lost? If over four weeks, then you'll need to take a look at your diary. Are you logging everything you eat? Are you using a food scale instead of measuring cups or guesstimating? Are you logging other exercise on MFP and going with their burns?0

First, make sure you are logging everything accurately.
After that, just have patience and keep going. If you are doing everything right, then eventually it will come off. Aside from specific medical issues, plateaus are by far the most misunderstood topic on MFP. Some people will post that they are in a plateau after 1-2 days of no weight loss. Others will tell you that you're cheating on your diary and must be eating more than you think if you have been stuck in a plateau for more than 2-3 weeks.
My last plateau was 5 months, then I had a whoosh of several lbs. in a few days. Since then (2 months ago), I've not lost anything (fluctuations up and down of a few lbs. from hour to hour and day to day still occur as always). As I've lost more and more weight, the plateaus become longer and longer and the whooshes are bigger. If you know you are doing everything right, then keep doing it and do your best to have patience.0 -

Suggestions?
1 - Reasonable weight loss weekly goal for amount to lose.
2 - Accurate food logging by weight, not volume measurements.
3 - Accurate logging of exercise that Fitbit is not as accurate at, depending on model used.
4 - Meet your reasonable daily eating goals. A goal is something you aim to hit, not miss.
5 - If that reasonable daily goal is well above where you were eating, especially prior to Fitbit, for a decent period of time - may be time to take a diet break for several weeks and eat at maintenance, whatever Fitbit says you burned you eat.0 -
