HR incorrect

Love my Charge HR and find it so motivating. However, for any cardio exercise, the heart rate is anywhere from 10 to 30 beats low. I noticed it the first Jazzercise class I did and my calorie burn was almost 75 less than my average calorie burn for the one hour class. So I decided to test it out with my HRM and sure enough, my hr on the Charge was always lower. Took it one step further and compared the Charge with the HRM and the readout on the treadmill at the gym. My HRM and the treadmill were within 1-2 beats, but the Charge was off by about 10-25.

Anyone else have this problem? I think I have about decided to ignore it and tell myself that the lower calorie burn just covers errors in calorie count or the bites of stuff I don't log.

Fitbit community shows lots with issue, they also have some suggestions. 30 bpm is a lot lower, and could really add a lot of deficit to one that is reasonable.

Inaccurate food logging doesn't always err on the side of eating less than you think, especially when measuring/weighing.
It has shown it does when totally estimating.

So I wouldn't count on balance being obtained from one being known lower, and the other side being unknown.

I do weigh and measure consistently, and I don't eat all my exercise calories anyway. Maybe my best solution is to wear my HRM for intentional exercise.

How tight are you wearing the Fitbit? I tighten it up a notch when I'm working out or running, which has stopped the odd dropouts in HR that I used to see...

My son suggested that to me, so I do that, too. The FitBit device is not going to be accurate, but most do find it motivating. That alone makes it worth having. Not sure why the very inaccurate hr measurement bugs me so much.
