Leslie's most challenging workout?

I started out with one of Leslie's 3-mile walks and I've previewed some of her other free stuff on youtube. It looks like she works at a similar pace for everything. Are there any workouts she does that are particularly challenging or are intended for intermediate/advanced walkers? I feel like I'm not working up a sweat...

These are not on YouTube, but Walk at Home: Walk Slim -4 Fast Miles, Just Walk: 5 Mega Miles and Walk At Home-5 Mile Fat Burning Walk are the 3 that cannot be completed by beginning walkers or walkers who have slacked off for a few weeks. Wonder how I know that?
4 Fast Miles has 5 intervals of fast walking for 3 minute and running (she calls it jogging) for 2 minutes. She even breaks for water on this one.
5 Fat Burning Miles are 12 minute miles for all 5!
5 Mega Miles has everything! Mile 1-Classic Low Impact, Mile 2-Walk and Tone with the firm band at the same time Mile 3-Speed Intervals (i.e. walk and run) Mile 4-Strength Intervals Mile(i.e. squats, lunges etc) 4 Ab Walk and then you lay down and die!

The Tone Every Zone Walk which is her newest one just shipped on Monday and I will be reporting on that one once I see, but it also promises to be one for advanced walkers.

    Hope this helps!

That sounds great. I don't mind giving Leslie some of my hard-earned money. I've been sprinting-in-place when doing some of her slower videos to get my heart rate up, but I always do better if a trainer is holding my feet to the fire.

Walk Away the Pounds 4 Mile Super Challenge is one of Leslie's fastest workouts. Because WATP were originally VHS, they are not chaptered. Newer, chaptered, DVDs tend to slow down at the beginning of each new mile. I like to grab some light handweights (during the slow times) because it reminds me to use my arms more. Arms above the head really bumps up my heart rate. Do not attempt Leslie walks with heavier weights (or ankle weights).....flinging big weights around is a recipe for injury. If you want a safer weighted option for walking workouts....look into a weighted vest. This will distribute the weight evenly.

Another possible way to bump up Leslie.....get a video that has one of those timer clocks. These are great for adding in your own jogging bursts. There are several DVDs with "boosted" walking. I gravitate towards 2 milers. My favorite 2 milers: Big Burn, Power Walk with Friends, and Walk & Jog are good (no timer clocks if I recall).

Instead of jogging on a hard floor I use a rebounder (mini trampoline).

Circuit workouts.....Walk Strong (not Walk Strong express) is challenging for 2 miles. You walk awhile, then grab heavier dumbbells and strength train, then continue with several circuits of walking/strength. You can use heavier weights here because the movements are controlled. Another circuit workout (more challenging than Leslie) is Walking Cardio Shape Up Max with Chris Freytag. This is similar to Walk Strong, but it's 40+ minutes. This is on YouTube somewhere.

Firm bands DVDs.....these are generally sloooooow.

To view video clips & read reviews of some Leslie videos....totalfitnessdvds.com and collagevideo.com

That's good info, thanks. I've heard that many of Leslie's older workouts (the ones originally on VHS) are more challenging than some of her newer stuff. Don't know if that's true, but I'll check out WATP. I've also heard good things about Chris Freytag.

I used to have a rebounder but got rid of it during my last decluttering session. :( I seem to do okay on a hard floor as long as I have my good running shoes w/insoles on.

I find the 3 mile in the Burn Body Fat and Sculpt Your Arms collection using 5 lb hand weights is pretty intense. In this workout Leslie uses 1 and 3 lb hand weights.

It goes at a consistent pace that builds up and it's sustained for a while. This workout only has one short boosted walking segment, but I'm always super sweaty when I'm done.

However, when I want to increase the calorie burn even further about mid way through the workout there are 2 really fast paced song and I just boost the entire time.

My next go to's for a challenge are The Big Burn: 2 Miles of Intervals, 4 Fast Miles, 5 Mega Miles and 3 Mile Weight Loss Walk and Walk and Tone: Advanced (an old Exercise TV workout that incorporates squats, lunges and boosted walking.)

Chris Freytag is awesome! The Walking Cardio workout on Youtube is great. It goes back and forth between cardio (walking), strength-training and floor work. I prefer to do all cardio or all strength in one workout so I don't use this one too often. However, this workout is great to do if I need to fit in cardio and strength-training in one workout.

Jessica Smith also has a 40 minute workout on Youtube that most contains jogging which is excellent although there is a lot of bouncing around.

Edited to add...Leslie also has a video on YT that is a one mile interval walk. When I do that twice in a row and it gives me a good short workout.

^ 3 Mile Weight Loss walk.........yes, I forgot about that one. Mary Kay's mile is killer.

4 Fast Miles...I'm sure that's fast. Leslie is just a bit too giddy (for me) in that one, and the James Brown doll....ugh.

I love her 5 advanced miles, her radio remix miles and the 10 minute workout one with 10 different workouts. She works every part of your body with those and you do feel the burn. I have a bunch of her dvds and depending on what I have for time I switch them up.

I got a chance to try Walk Slim 4 Fast Miles, and that one kicked my butt! The intervals aren't overly intense, but over the course of 50 minutes, I did sweat.
