Fitbit Surge went crazy the other day, what the heck?!

My husband's FitBit Surge was acting up on Saturday night. It said he had 79,238 steps, burned 11,068 calories and had 350 active minutes, which was the time leading up to midnight. It hadn't recorded his heart rate since 4pm that night though so I don't think he was even wearing it. It then had another 100 active minutes right after midnight on Sunday morning with 25,366 steps and 6,017 calories. He was wearing it for part of Saturday and part of Sunday so some of that is his real burn and steps, but definitely not that many.
Does anyone know what the heck happened to it and why it did this? I want to see if this is a known problem or if it is his specifically and if we should call the company or not. This is the first time it has ever done this but he would like to prevent it in the future if possible. Thanks!

The Fitbit forums might be a better source of info on this issue.

Thank you very much for the link. No, it hasn't acted up before that or since then. It was just that 7.5 hour span.0
