Birth control disaster!

I am in such a dilemma. The birth control my primary doctor gave me has done wonders, cramps are almost completely gone, odd bodily hair is LESSENING (but still there annoyingly enough), and in addition to a diet I've dropped weight.

HOWEVER, two months into taking it (she wanted me to take 3 months without placebo then the placebo, so on) I started getting break through bleeding. Not super heavy but that lasted a MONTH. It was miserable. She said it was normal but I did a little of my own research and someone suggested just taking the placebo early to return the cycle to normal. That fixed it instantly. So Now I'm back into taking the pill as suggested but it's only been two weeks into the pack and I'm bleeding again! I'm so frustrated! Sometimes I am off by an hour as far as the timing of taking it, but I am good about that.

If anyone has any suggestions; vitamins, tricks, etc. Let me know.

To add of course because I know I'll be asked: Yaz Generic 28's 3mg. The Generic is Vestura.

I had that problem when my dosage was too low, both with OrthoTriCyclenLo and when I was on a lower dosage of Microgestin (which I take continuously without a placebo week to induce a period). One I stepped up one small dose, the break through bleeding stopped, as did weird PMS perpetually side effects and such. I would look and see if there is a small step up to a stronger dose you can try if you generally like the effectiveness. I would ask the doctor to let you try it a full cycle (3 months) because breakthrough bleeding, while somewhat expected, is not something i can afford or put up with mentally... Good luck!

You might also request a full hormone panel if you haven't had one recently. That should be able to help you keep an eye on any less expected side effects.
