Has anyone had a Labrum tear on their shoulder and had surgery?

If so, how long were you out of the gym and how long was your recovery time?

I started crossfit in February 2015 and fell in love, but my shoulders can not support the upper body intensity. I've had a chronic issue with my right shoulder semi-dislocating for the last 8-10 years and recently a different part of my shoulder popped out. Went to the doctor and dx of labrum tear. Now I'm thinking surgery may need to be done since my ligaments are so stretched out and now I'm "globally unstable" on that shoulder.... I'm sad and any feed back would help... thanks!

Even though you aren't quite old enough yet, check out the CF Masters group on Facebook. There are plenty of people who have had that surgery and can tell you what to expect. Most of them came back just fine or even better (which makes sense if they can fix the instability)
    Good luck!

Yep, the CF Masters group on FB is really good - lots of injuries on there :-)
