This Looks Impossible!

Okay, I joined mfp a while back. At the time I was rocking awesome! I had 130 to lose when I started and dropped 40 lbs on the way down. I was watching what I ate and doing Zumba 1 hour a day 5 days a week! I was loving it! I got rid of my entire closet and replaced it with a few things in my size.
Then, the unthinkable happened. I injured my knee in a totally stupid accident. What I initially thought would be no big deal, was in fact a life altering permanent injury to my knee. Not surprisingly, I fell into some depression. I used other things as excuses, but that was the ultimate truth. I moved into pj bottoms and t shirts almost exclusively.
So, now here I am back up the 40 I lost, plus 25 more! I need to lose 155 lbs to hit a healthy weight and I can't use my knee. So, it looks like I will have to do this strictly by decreasing calories. This is day 3. Day 1 I had about 1000 calories for the day. Day 2 I was right on track until dinner when I completely blew it. So far today, I am right on track but I am so hungry!
The weight loss was working before the knee injury because I would workout and burn mass calories and could still eat a fairly normal amount of food. Now, since the workout is not an option, I feel like there is no way I am going to make it!
I need some help! Does anyone know of any exercise that actually burns calories but does not use the knee or some really filling little to no calorie foods for snacking or meals.

Hi I
Ann
Major accident destroyed my knee, the meniscus had to be removed now it is bone on bone. I use small hand weights to strengthen my upper arms so I can help myself get up. I do understand the frustration of not being able to move like you use to.
1000 cal a day is not that good for you, 1200 1500 would be better and you wont fall off as easy. Just an idea ??0 -

I do have some small weights I could use. They have sat at the end of my bed since I quit doing Zumba in April of last year. I just hate feeling so limited! I know I way undercut the calories that first day but it seems so hard to get that calorie count right. I need to focus more on that and eat more salad to help me feel fuller.0 -
well think positively! I started out in may needing to lose 125. Its been slow, but I haven't started my excercise program yet! So losing weight while not excercising is possible! You will most likely need to adjust the calorie intake dramatically. I will probably not change the activity level on my log and I probably won't even log it. My current goal is to get under 200 by Christmas, or New Years.
Just remember not to let this destroy your success thus far!0
