Treadmill Workout: is Fitbit or Treadmill correct?

Fitbit Charge HR

Ran 1 mile on the treadmill with my Fitbit and it said I ran .70 mile....grr

    You may need to check your stride length. There should be an explanation on how to in the FAQ, I believe.

    I would go by Fitbit...I would rather have an underestimated number than an overestimate.

    Thank you both! I will definitely check my stride length. The only issue with that is my strides are different walking than running obviously!

    But I would rather it be underestimated. :)

    There are separate stride length settings for walking and running, so no problem there.

    And despite the difference in distance - the HR-based devices got calorie burn from HR anyway.

    And suggest you get your walking stride length from a pace between daily and exercise but closer to daily pace, considering your daily activity burn is based on steps, and exercise on HR.
    You want distance for daily more accurate than exercise - but it'll likely hit both.

    My last run/walk interval routine (50% both at 1 min) said 5.66 from Fitbit, GPS was 5.6 miles.
