What's your weight loss goal for December? My goal is 6 pounds total, 1.5 pounds per week. That's what I lost for the month of November so I'll make it my December goal. I'll post here each week, anyone else want to set a goal for December and track it here with me? What's your name, height, starting weight for December 1 and goal weight for December 31st?

December has me worried (holidays, travelling for work, stressing about French exams), so this might be just what I need.

I know what you mean! We have birthdays, Christmas parties, New Years party and our family vacation this month. I really don't want to throw away any of my hard work.

I understand that with Christmas comes a lot of buffet food, chocolate and takeouts. That's just how it is. Whilst I'll be making an effort to eat sensibly I know that it's not realistic to aim for a 2lb loss per week. If I maintain 306 during December I will be happy :)

December is by far the most difficult month for me. If I can just get past this month with all of the bad food choices constantly at my beck and call I know I can have victory over this weight issue.

I'm hoping to begin the new year with a weight starting with an 18.

Last Friday (27th November), I weighed in at 19st 6lb. So I'm hoping to lose at least 7lb and keep it off. Or, lose more than 7lb and not put on too much over the festive period.

I don't have many parties to go to - a buffet at work and Christmas Day/Boxing Day with family. So fingers crossed, I should stay on track, apart from these couple of days.

Things have started to slow down on the weight loss front. This month will be a challenge. I was walking every night but now with the cold weather and the darkness - it gets dark here around 5:30 pm - it has been a challenge. I know I need to do it though. As well, I am trying to set up a workout room in my basement. I was hoping Santa would bring me a few things!

I'm struggling with the last bit to clear the 90s and continue into the 80s--and beyond . I would be happy just getting into the mid- to lower 80s. I, also, struggle with staying more active; however, just bought a swim pass to the local pool, so hopefully that will help. AND...if Santa brings me the headlamp I want, I can get back out there and walk again (it's dark before 6pm here!). I would love to incorporate more weights and lifting, but that is going to have to wait until I 'earn' it--and because that is/can become expensive, it's now a reward for achieving the 70s (so, roughly 20lbs to go).

I've been travelling this week so I didn't have access to my scales on December 8th. I'm going to post as if today is December 8th, though, just to keep it on a weekly time scale.

    December 1: 209
    December 8: 207

Two down, five to go. Leslie, my struggles were with restaurants this week, too. I am so happy to be home.

Successes/struggles this week: I'm posting days after my weigh-in so, last week I struggled with my energy level. I was super tired, almost exhausted. I had issues before with iron deficiencies and I may need testing again. Even though I felt exhausted most days I still did my workouts.

Forgot to do my official weigh in this morning, so I'm going to weigh in tomorrow morning. I think Saturdays might be my new official weigh in as I can take my time to do it, rather than rushing about for work.

Fingers crossed I'll have lost a little, but I'll be happy with a maintenance week as I've had a couple of buffet/snack days - one at work and one family thing.

    Dec 1st - 209
    Dec 20th - 204.2

Two pounds to go, but with seasonal feasting in between here and the finish line (office Christmas party tomorrow, family feast days coming up and holiday nibbles everywhere).

Going to be a tough week.

Well, I didn't quite make it; my scale's still stuck on 202.8 but I can live with that; I'm still down more than six pounds since December 1st, and that's so much better than last year (when I gained 10lbs over the holidays).

Thanks for the mini-challenge, Leslie. It helped motivate me through the Christmas season, which was a great help to me.

I was 1 pound away from my goal of 6 pounds but I am still happy that I lost 5 pounds. December was a really difficult month for weight loss but I loved all of the Christmas parties and vacationing. Now back to more serious weight loss for January!!!
