Well, Wednesday is long gone, but Happy Monday (oxymoron, I know)!
I woke up to a snow/ice storm today. No gym for me. Even in my Jeep, I don't do ice! I've got a plan, though. I've got a yoga strength training DVD and several good cardio ones I can do. I just need an anti-binge plan for today. That one is tougher.
Anybody else out there today?0 -
Good Morning! Same here...snow and Ice=Yuk! I usually stress out on the days because I always feel the need to be productive and this weather makes it tough. I knew today was going to be rough so I started my to-do list last night so that I do't freak out at any point during the day. I'm hoping to find a good movie and elliptical here in a bit. I hope your yoga and cardio goes well for you!!0

This is what I do weekly. I prepare my lunches to take to work so I don't overeat during the day. I throw all my veggies on a tray, roast them and then put them in containers. It helps me to plan ahead.

Looks scrumptious! I menu ahead. I can't prepare ahead, though. Just no time! My lunch is usually a pizza pocket grabbed and scarfed down while I'm between work and the gym.
But! Do you have a recipe? Do you roast in olive oil or is that just a "foil packet? What seasonings do you use? You veggies look beautiful and delicious, too!0 -
I use coconut oil, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, paprika, cumin. I try to switch up the spices weekly.
I roast them at 350 for 25-30 minutes and just take a container to work each day for lunch.
I also make breakfast cookies to have ready to eat with coffee each morning...0 -

OMG! The look yummy!
I am going to try the veggies for next week. That's got to be better than a pizza pocket.0 -
It's Tuesday! Goooood mornin' y'all.
I was snowed/iced in yesterday, so no gym for me. I kept busy, though, with cleaning chores and stuff. I had three healthy meals and healthy snacks all day!
And then, rather than going to bed at bedtime, I fought my body. I decided that since schools were closed, my daughter and I should stay up and watch both Deathly Hallows movies. And snack. Popcorn, Granola, cheese, and sandwich ham. Not cool. What the heck was I thinking? What I really wanted was a Mike's Hard Lemonade that I've had stashed in the fridge for months, but at 400 calories, it had too many calories. Nevermind that my binge was far over that :-/
Not going to make it to the gym today. The roads are just nasty. But I've decided to do yoga (for strength training) and probably kickboxing (cardio).
Lesson learned. When sleepy, go to sleep. Duh.0 -
Good Morning!
I did well last night for the 3rd night in a row but I understand what you went through.
I have to tell myself that too. I try not to eat after 7:30pm so when I feel hungry after that, I know it's time to start winding down to get ready for bed. (I usually go to bed early anyway. I love to get up early) It's always hard when you have someone with you, eating with you also. It's like you make it ok to overeat because you have someone doing it with you. Sometimes it's just better to go ahead and go for what you're really wanting rather than eating around it. I do that too! I'll overeat other things to make up for the thing I really wanted. It's just an ongoing battle in our heads and people that don't have this problem have a hard time understanding how intense it is.
It's a mess here today too! Stay warm and enjoy your workout!0 -
I did really really poorly yesterday, I hope I can't get back on track today, I have never been so disgusting with my body. It's so embarrassing that I'm actually going to try to run a marathon like this.0

Danielle everyone slips, it is how you pick yourself up that matters. I know this is hard, it is hard on everyone here. It is probably even harder on you because you were so active and an injury causes this set back, then one turned into two, into 7. But every person here is, here to support you. We will help in any way that you need it. What do you feel like is the cause of your binging? What thing sets it off? Is it stress?0
-
Idk probably a combination of stress, anxiety, exhaustion, just that it's such a strong habit, and not having actual hunger cues anymore. I really have no idea of what I should be eating and don't want to eat what my maintence calories are because that isn't my goal.0
-
Don't know if this is bad manners or not, but try using a site like SparkPeople that will give you (FREE!) a menu based on your calorie/ weight loss goals. It's where I began.
I spent five minutes with Jillian Michaels and decided to h3ll with her! I am going to the gym. I'd rather listen to my music than listen to her lol!

Well I can help you with the food part if you would like. We can work on the types of foods you like to eat but we can tweak them to make them healthier. I highly recommend a high protein high fiber breakfast to start the day, as both of those things will fill you up and keep you fuller longer throughout the day.0

Yeah I eat pretty well for a college kid. I always eat a banana pre workout then a second banana and a protein shake after my workout for breakfast.0
-
Do you track your daily calorie intake?0
-
Yes0

Well, I'm late, so GOOOOG EVENING! Had a great day-eating has been spot on, got in a good, hard cardio work out, my mood is good. I hope y'all have had an excellent day, as well0

That is my problem I was trained by an amazing pastry chef, that is when my binging began to get out of control. I learned to bake all sort of goodies, then I would make them at home in MASSIVE quantities and then proceed to eat the entire amount. I have always struggled with sugary treats, as my grandmother used to give me sugar cubes as a snack when I was very young. So sugar had been my goto thing and I was powerless over sugar. I would crave it all day every day until I finally would give in and eat myself sick. I used to describe it to people as being a meth addict, who can make the best meth whenever they want. I have this ability but yet I was out of control. Every day was a battle and I hated it. I had tried to lose weight for the last year, and I would do ok but then I would slip, then completely fall off the wagon and binge on my kids candies and treats, or buy snack cakes, and candy and eat them all in my car and lie to my wife and kids about it. But I am on the right track now, I can actually resist sweets, and other bad foods so for me that is a great feeling.0

I am fighting with cravings & binge urges today. I've resisted so far. I talked myself down from my ledge several times today! Had to stop myself and remind myself that I wasn't hungry. More than once, I had to say out loud, "Get your fanny off your shoulder, girl!" Frustrations at work are a big trigger for me, and today was very frustrating.
I'm going to beat this. I'm so tired of a life restricted. I crave freedom from this far more than I crave any food.
So, I went to the gym tired and angry. I tried my usual elliptical, but instead of my normal 30 minutes, I only made 3. I walked for 70, though. It felt good! And with the music cranked up in my earbuds, I was able to mentally sort through my day without interruption.
Now off to Wally World....wish me luck0 -
I fought hard all day and then caved around 6pm....my parents mailed me a box of food and stuff and I ate a whole bag of cashews and a box of protein bars. I knew it would happen. I should have just thrown the stuff away but whatever. I know better for next time now.0
-
Throw it away or find a food pantry and donate it.0
-
Too late now...I just feel bad throwing it out and there isn't a food pantry in the immediate area. And I'm a poor college student who could use the food but like...I just eat it all at once.0
-
Can you find an inconvenient place to keep it? This way you have to work to get it. Or split it up in smaller portions and store them separately?0
-
Yeah I try to do that but it doesn't usually work. Once I start to binge it's out of control.0

Happy Friday, y'all! TGIF!
The forecast for my corner of the world this weekend is sunshine & highs in the 60's. I have a nice, long Sunday hike planned with my family.
What are y'all doing to get active this weekend?0
