I think there will be some new participants joining us for this challenge, so I thought it would be good to do some introductions again.

Hi, I'm Stephanie. I discovered this challenge back on St. Patrick's Day 2014, which was just about the first day I started at MFP (I'd created my account a couple of months before, but not used it). At the time it was also the beginning of the Easter challenge, and I met lots of fun people who are still friends here, some part of the challenge still, others not (and others who have left MFP completely). When I started this challenge I was at 200 (down from my high of about 220 at the beginning of 2014), and I lost 95 lbs to get to just under 125, and have been maintaining for a year (although my weight is creeping up a bit so I'm going to refocus during this challenge).

One of my big goals is to figure out a way to maintain permanently (or as close to it as possible) :-), as I lost lots of weight once before (gained in my late 20s, early 30s and lost 65 lbs in 2003, which I maintained for 5 years before starting to regain due to various life things). For me, I think one of the keys to maintenance -- in addition to community and challenges like this and just remaining attentive -- is that I really love being active and new challenges, Last year I did a couple of triathlons, and this year I plan to do more, although for the winter my focus has been marathon training. My first marathon since 2005 (and second overall, after I said never again) is at the end of February, so I hope you will wish me luck! I'm also interested in weight training, but not particularly knowledgeable yet, and love reading about nutrition.

Apart from weight-related stuff, I'm 46, a lawyer in Chicago, into theater (going, not acting) and reading (mostly fiction) and (sigh) eating out, as well as cooking and travel (one of my goals for getting back into shape was to do a week-long bike trip, and I plan to do more). No kids, but I do have two cats, one of whom is my avatar and the other is in my profile.

Hello, I'm Marcella from just northwest of Atlanta, Ga. I am 57 years old, 5'6", married with 2 adult sons (24 and 22 years old) and 2 cats. I worked in the business world until my sons were born. Now that they are grown, I have the pleasure of being the business manager for my son's recording studio.

I began my current MFP journey December 2014. My weight was 192.5 and I was beginning to feel the effects of the weight on my otherwise small frame. I decided to keep it simple and focus on the 3 things that seemed most important to my health so that I could develop good habits for a life time. (1) Getting at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night, (2) Managing stress better, (3) Avoiding highly processed foods. I also found that logging my food daily on MFP makes all the difference to me.

I am over halfway to my goal now and plan to reach my goal weight by this summer. It's easier to be more active now that I weigh less and feel better. This year I will also be focusing more on exercise.

Hi All, I am Maica. 29 yrs old, 5'0", Asian (so really small framed). I am a mom of one two year old boy. I have a homebased job (Website tester, so I am really sedentary most of the times). I've been to 2 of these challenges but I've fallen off the wagon. I don't have much to lose really. I only have 10 lbs or so. Depends on how I will look when I am nearing my goal. I really want to tone but I am still very new to working out consistently. I am taking it very slow now. It is important to me that I maintain my loss since I have been gaining and losing the same 10 lbs for a couple of years already. It doesn't matter if I gain a bit in some weeks or indulge in some days, as long as it is very little and as long as I get back on track as soon as possible (very important to not let it go over a week or it will become a habit and I am in danger of falling off the wagon). Right now, I am squeezing in as much exercise as possible (I have to wake up really early for this since I have a work and a child to be busy with). I was very lazy in working out on my past attempts. I like it more now though because I am able to eat more and when I indulge in one day, I am able to upset the extra in my exercise the other day. I also feel stronger.

I am happy to be a part of this challenge again since I can use more motivation to reach my goals. Good luck to all!

    Hello everyone,

I'm Jill and I live in Wales (UK). I was always a healthy weight until my late 30's when I gradually started to pile it on. I was working longer hours and as a result had less time to exercise. I was gaining about 7lbs a year and 10 years later I was 70lbs overweight and very unfit. In 2012 I worked hard to lose weight I got down to the 150's but after a difficult year last year I piled the weight back on. I am determined to get down to the 140's this year through healthy eating and exercise and feel the more like-minded people I can surround myself with the better.

I'm 56 and a retired Chartered Accountant. I'm married, no children and love walking in our beautiful countryside and coastline, cooking, reading (I run a book group), singing in a local choir, learning to speak Welsh, growing my own veg and knitting amongst other things.

Wishing everyone success in their goals for 2016

    xx

Hi! Thanks for letting me join this challenge. I'm currently on my weight loss journey and have lost 32 lbs. the last few weeks my weight loss has really slowed down so i've got to get back to working out regularly and staying within my calorie goals.

I love challenges and I'm really excited to participate in this one. They keep me really motivated and I like to do several at a time (I like having multiple weigh ins per week).

Anyway glad to be here! Looking forward to getting to know you guys.

Welcome -- glad you both are joining us.

Jill, I'm kind of obsessed with the idea of going to Wales right now. Keep looking at videos of crazy races there (which I am not planning to do) and it looks beautiful.

    Hi Everyone,
My name is Freyja. I have been part of these challenges for 2 years. wow I didn't realize it had been that long but going back through my records my first challenge was valentine's day 2014. holy smokes that is crazy. Some i have been more committed to then others. I have had down weights and i was thrilled. At one point i actually got down to 185 then like i always do at that point i came back up again. I am really hoping i can make it stick this time around and keep it going.

I have been tracking for 600 days not always everything sometimes it has been just to keep the steak up. I am trying to make it more meaningful and actually log everything good or bad now. I am hoping to learn finally from past mistakes.

I have also decided to make smaller goals and try not to think of the huge end goal hopefully this will help me from getting frusterated and overwhelmed.

Anyway I am happily married and will be celebrating my 20th anniversary and turning 40 this summer. I have four children the oldest of whom is getting married in May. I work retail and am the cub master in my son's scouting group. Needless to say I am busy just like all of you are.

Good luck everyone with your journey.

Hey everyone. This will be my second challenge, having just finished one that went from Thanksgiving 2015 to Valentine's Day 2016. My weight loss has been relatively slow, but seemingly steady enough. I can always use more motivation when the scale refuses to budge!

I'm 26, female. I'm 5'10" so my current weight (165 lbs) doesn't look bad by any means. I'd like to get down to 150 lbs by August. That seems like such a long time when I type it out, but my weight loss has been REALLY slow going since I started in November at 172, so I'm trying to be realistic. When I started lifting weights four years ago, I was 162 and a size 12. Now I'm 165 and a size 8. I'd still like to shed a bit more of this fat and see more of my muscles. Here's to Easter!

My name is Tim, I have lost eighteen pounds so far, but still have another forty to go. My goal is to lose 10lbs by the end of this challenge. With God's help to stay inside of my calories along with exercise three or four times a week. We (you) can succeed!!!

Hi, everybody! I just came out of a challenge that ended on Valentine's day and to keep the momentum going I decided to join another one. I'm glad I found this one, because I like short challenges with spreadsheets - I think they are a lot more doable than a long-term commitment. My goal is to shed 4 lbs, which is a lot considering the rate at which I've been losing weight lately. Those last few pounds are always the hardest, but I'm not going to stop trying.

Good luck to all of you!

I'm Cassie. I'm from Iowa. I've been trying to slowly lose weight all year. It's going very slowly, about .5 pound a week. I've also been adding in exercise. Currently doing C25K.

Hello! I'm Al. I'm from Melbourne, Australia and have lost 35.4kg since January 2014. I'm actually now only 1.4kg off my original goal weight - the one I set when I could barely wrap my head around ever being a 'healthy' weight and thought I'd be happy if I could just fit into clothes at a 'normal' clothes store. Of course, as these things happened, I got smaller and realised that - hell yes I can be a healthy weight! And I can run, do Taekwondo and life weights!

So I don't really have a goal weight, but I do aim to get into my healthy BMI range, the top of which is about 14.4kg away. I don't really care how long it takes, but I need to stay committed to it.

I've had a rough start to the year in a few ways, and this challenge seemed like a good way to refocus. If I succeed in what I set out, this challenge will see my with an "overweight" BMI for the first time in a very long time, maybe.. 15 years?
