Hey Everyone!
Thanks Total Determination for suggesting this group. I feel like I need to keep my mind as strong as my body to keep on track, this might be just the thing.
A quick intro, I was born and raised in Boston, but moved to LA to start a life with my college sweetheart 15 years ago. I have achieved a lot of my personal and professional goals and I am the proud dad to 7 year old twins. I have found that as I have grown a bit older and I grown comfortable with my station in life, I have gotten myself into a bit too slow of a routine. As I begin to get a view of how the next 20 years or so are likely to go, I want to be sure that I don't forget to keep my mind and body strong. When I am at my best mentally and physically I see the results in all areas of my life. I want to get back there.
Challenges:
Stress eating.
An extra glass of wine/beer/bourbon when I don't need the calories.
Fast food walking distance from my desk.
Opportunities:
Feeling motivated at work
Wearing clothes that fit like a glove and not a sausage casing.
Getting even sexier! (I took this for granted in my 20s)
Being more mindful with my kids
Making my kids less embarrassed of my gut at the pool. Ha!
I hope I don't come off as too vain, but I am just thinking of the short term wins for now. I have to walk before I can run!
I'm gonna take this itty bitty world by storm... But first I am going to take two Motrin (boxing class is no joke!)
Thanks for letting me into your journal club! Good luck everyone!
