New to SL

Hi to all
I have been around mfp for a few years now and have been successful and lost 64lbs to date. More recently I have started using the community and wanted to ask for advice, if I could?
I plan to start SL next week, I’m ok with the lifting program and such, my problem is with the nutritional side. I’m not sure where to be with calories and I also struggle to get enough protein during the day (i am a vegetarian and mostly struggle with protein, I don’t like tofu and seitan...yuk)
I am quite happy with my weight where it stands at the moment, however I wouldn’t be upset if I did lose a couple so more pounds or even gained a couple (with lifting), I do have a lot of fat still around the tummy area and have now found that when I lose a bit more weight it is coming off the wrong places and also I think I’ve lost some LBM especially around the upper area (arms)
I also do some light leisure swimming 3 times a week (around half hour each session) and walk daily with my two dogs (usually around 4 miles)
I have also been reading about re-composition and didn’t know whether that would be the way to go?
Anyway…….., I wondered if you guys had any advice about the calorific side of things as a guideline for me? Should I plan on maintenance calories or more, or something else.
All greatly received.
STATS
Height 5’4”
Weight 139lbs
BF around 30% ish (big fat tummy….)
Was thinking would like to reduce to around 20-25% (but not sure how feasible this is)
age 49
ps. please be gentle…..my first posting……I think i have covered everything…

Welcome!
Our stats are very similar!!! If you're happy with your weight stay at maintenance and recomp. Read this post, the OP is very knowledgeable -http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/10177803/recomposition-maintaining-weight-while-losing-fat/p1
For protein, I use a supplement...i believe there are vegetarian protein supplements out there.
Between lifting and swimming you'll do great! Enjoy!

Thanks. Will have a read through it later.0

Out of interest giusa what supplement do you use. I've been looking and there are
Soooo many kinds0 -
Several different, but mostly ON Gold Standard and NOW Sports Isolate Vanilla.
Also, when lifting you're more likely to see a change in your monthly measurements than the scale.0 -
Cheers. Yes I realise about measurements. I'm not bothered about the scale at the moment. Thanks again.
Also deleted your request by mistake.0 -
supplements: i've used various whey things from six star. can't remember the name of my go-to right now as i just finished it and i'm into a huge stash of other brands/products that i bought recently.
with six star, i always have to keep a tiny bit vigilant and actually read the name of the thing i'm buying. most of their range has very similar packaging and if i don't pay attention it's easy enough to find myself grabbing one of the ones that are also designed to help/make you gain weight.0
