LGBT Sporting Events that welcome all abilities

Hello there! I am posting this here because I was talking with another MFP member that had no idea these events existed. There are several national/international LGBT sporting events that welcome all, encourage your personal best, and have generous time limits/categories/etc to include people will all levels of sport ability.
In 2014 I participated in Gay Games 9 in Cleveland, OH and it was an amazing event. I've got below three events on my schedule and I encourage you to check them out.
Imagine participating in an LGBT-welcoming and encouraging 5K, 10K, half marathon, or marathon. Or participating in a bowling, darts, triathlon, softball, etc. event that includes people from all around the country or the world.
Here are some of the events:
2016: North America World OutGames, Saint Louis, Missouri (early bird pricing goes through 2/21)

2017: World Outgames- Miami, Florida

2018: Gay Games 10: Paris, France

I had a blast at GG9 in Cleveland- thousands of athletes from around the world, a great shared experience both as a participant and as a spectator. It was a very empowering experience and I would recommend it!0

I competed in 5 figure skating events in GG9, and performed in the exhibition I thought events like the ones listed above were common knowledge, as well as many others. On fb there are many LGBT sporting organizations that keep you updated on many different events going on. If you haven't checked out GLISA, you should, bglad.com is also a good general resource XOXOXO0

I find so many people don't know these types of events are out there, that they are held all over the world, and that most welcome everyone! Better to err on the side of sharing the word!0

Way to go! Sounds like it was a ton of fun. It would be great to be in such an inclusive, open environment competing with similar folks! I have always loved playing sports and it is not usually an environment that is inviting to gay/bi men.

Hi! What kind of sports do you like? I can help you find some other events like this (if these do not fit your interests). They are out there, trust me! For example for bowling there are tournaments that welcome all abilities that will fill a whole facility.
