Plank Challenge...it's not what you think
For this challenge we'll see who can plank the most seconds/minutes` this week. This is NOT who can plank the most in one session. Doing 5 seconds 6 times in a day is the same as doing 30 seconds once a day. Modify the plank position as needed...on hands, on elbows, on feet, on knees, on side, etc. There are also modifications to increase the difficulty. Here are a couple of potentially helpful websites.
With 9 plank variations (This man also suggests that if you can do 60 seconds of one variation, it's more helpful to progress to the next than to extend your time.)

For basic info about planking, safety, and restrictions...

I'm planking along with all of you this week
but it's too difficult to figure out the time spent in plank since mine are incorporated within my Piyo Workout. I did a 38 min workout last night that had a 5+ minute section where planking was involved in many of the moves.

It is slowly feeling better. Oddly, this time was not a vertebrae or nerve issue; it almost always has been in the past. The muscles that run from neck to hip bone crest on my left side are jacked up. Not sure what the original issue really was, but I'm taking it easy again today. Tomorrow, I'm hoping to be back on the floor adding MINUTES to my plank time for the week....unless my back says otherwise.

Here's the end of the week plank times.
@emshields1 6 minutes 40 seconds
@JBsJazz 5 minutes
@jilliancreates 2 minutes 30 seconds
@highlandshoppa ??? Although, I'm guessing you should probably be at the top of this list.
Personally, I'm bummed that my back didn't cooperate this week. When I'm not in pain, I actually enjoy pushing myself with stuff like this. Look for this challenge again very soon, maybe even before the end of February!0 -

I didn't post all week for this challenge, and didn't really keep track, but I'm guessing I did about 6 minutes worth of planks this week.0
