DU's .. breathing

Hey all - I manage around 25 to 30 du's a time but I find I hold my breath so I can't sustain this for a long time. We are doing Annie tomorrow and want to nail it under 8 mins for a personal best.

What is your suggestion for breathing? I reckon I could smash out 50 at a time if only I got my breath under control.

Cheers

Never even thought of breathing while I jump rope. I just do it.

Breathing? I never really think about that. I'm focused on jump speed, jump height, foot and leg position, rope speed, hand position, wrist angle, what rep am I on, why aren't my wrists moving fast anymore, why can't my shoulders shut up....LOL.... In all honesty, right now I'm starting to get into the upper 20s for high consecutive DUs and about that time I'm too winded to keep going. I do believe DUs are a completely separate cardio type which you can only get better at by doing more of them

Once I approached DU as rest, I've been able to string them together in large sets (30-50/set). Don't try to rush it, just stay relaxed and consistent.
