Well meaning people...

Anyone get a lot of comments or advice from well meaning friends or family?

Today my friend said to me "Why are you trying to lose more weight? I would be really happy if I had your body." It really rubbed me the wrong way. I know it was supposed to be a compliment but why she felt the need to bring it up is beyond me. I wasn't really evening talking about losing weight, all I said was that I need to get back into my exercise routine because I've been feeling sluggish.

Earlier in the week I was having dinner with my parents and my dad asked "is that all you are going to eat?" I took a decent portion of chicken and vegetables, just didn't eat any of the potatoes. Things like this play back in my head and make me want to binge!
Sorry for the rant!

Best thing I've heard was when I was talking to my mom about my binge eating problem, and she said to me, "You don't have to eat so much, you know."

Like, no, really... I would have never thought that.

My husband is a well meaning person. He says that he married me at 250 pounds and has been with me from 170 up to 300. Makes me feel like he just is along for the ride. I know he means that he loves ME not my body. Still....

I know he means well. But it's as if he's telling me that he doesn't care about my health or happiness.

Is there something they could say that would be appropriate?

My dad was the first person in my family I came out to about my binging and my period of restricting. He's very pushy about food and tried to guilt me into eating something i didn't want.

He just told me to shut up and talk about something else because I am at a healthier weight than I was before.
