Hi, all! I thought I'd get away from weekly threads and just create a thread for the rest of April since our group has gotten smaller. I hope you don't mind.
I'm loving this time of year! It makes me feel good, and I am doing well. How are you doing?

Thanks for starting each thread. I have been more than off track for some time and spent time today preparing for the coming week. Time goes so quickly. My son is graduating from college in eight short weeks. I must stick to my plan to eat healthy and exercise. My goal is to lose 10 pounds by June 8, totally obtainable. My niece is having a beach wedding July 29th and I want to look my best. That's 16 weeks away. Reading everyone's posts is what keeps me going. Have a great week all!0

I get sad every time I realise that we still have to get through winter before summer gets here again, so this isn't my favourite time of year. However, yesterday was over 30 degrees Celsius and today is even hotter, so I can pretend it is still summer!
Ironman yesterday is always a great encouragement to get back into training and although I'm limited, there is enough I can do to keep active!0 -
@LIving360 A pound a week is totally doable if you stick to your plan. Good luck to you. Please know that you have already succeeded...in raising a son who is about to graduate from college! Good job, mom!
@CaptainBoing I'm glad to hear that you had a fun weekend and continue to find motivation around you. I am sure that you can do a triathlon, Ironman, or whatever you put your mind to do. Don't overexert yourself, but go for it!
I had a great week this past week and felt pretty good about myself. Today's weigh in did not show what a great week I had. I knew I was feeling slimmer so I tried on a pair of jeans from my closet that were too tight last time I tried them on. They fit! I knew it. Dumb scale.0 -

@NewOR2015 -I like the monthly thread and I like the consistency of just maintaining an ongoing discussion. Great idea.
@Living360 - That's a great goal for July. You can do it!
@CaptainBoing - Sounds like a wonder and inspiring weekend!
This week, I will be trying to get everything in order before my husband and I leave for a little mini vacation in Orlando. It helps that our young adult sons still live at home because we don't have to worry about pets, mail, etc while we are away. We just leave for a few days and the cats don't care. We have decided to eat more carefully while away this time though. Since we will be staying in a room with a kitchen, we will be taking and preparing most of our foods ourselves. Our dining out will be more purposeful this trip. Wishing everyone a wonderful week!0 -
@CaptainBoing yes but when you are in Summer we are in winter so as you slip into fall we are desperately waiting for spring and as it snowed again last night I'm so tired of snow. I really need some warmer weather. LOL
This week I'm working 6 days as my boss is on vacation. I'm just going to get through it. They are calling for crappy weather all week. So I won't be missing much.0 -
My “Slim by Summer” Goal
10/11: 202.4 (Starting Weight)
4/11: 186.5 (Current Weight)
6/08: 176.5 (Goal Weight - 1st day of my summer)
7/29: 166.5 (Goal Weight - Family wedding)
I love Orlando, I have had the opportunity to go a few times. My husband just went to work at Disneyland so I hope to be going back when he gets vacation next year. I'm lucky to live in So California so weather isn't much of a factor. We have had April Showers for the last week and that's a lot of weather for us.0 -
I made some soup today. That should keep me in veggies for the next couple of days. We're expecting rain. I'll be staying indoors and getting my veggies in. No more candy around.1

Fitness test for Game of Thrones challenge completed:
Run 1.78 km in 10:20
Squat 50
Push up 10 full and 10 half
Plank 1:05
Sit & reach +9.8 cm
Pretty happy with results and excited to see how they change in 10 weeks. Knee and brain were both OK, although I'm not sure my bio or bjj mom will be so happy when they hear I went running!1 -
So sorry for everyone that's still experiencing Winter! Here in Georgia, USA we continue to get the occasional over-night cold and some rain showers come through, but nothing to complain about. Cold or not, the soup sounds like a great idea. I think I may put some on cooking as well.
CaptainBoing - Well done! I know it must be hard to take it easy so I'l just say, great job on the challenge and don't forget to be careful!
Today is going to be all about errands for me. Have a wonderful day, everyone!0 -
Exercised for the 1st time in 26 days . . . once off track it's easy for me not to continue. I only have the early mornings and I was enjoying the extra sleep but my body was starting to puff up and I don't like that feeling. Renewed commitment feels good, much better than the guilt of knowing I am slacking and not taking care of myself. I too wish everyone a great day!0

WTG, Robin!0

I had another bio session this morning and I was yet again promoted to more difficult versions of the exercises due to the progress, plus my bio was showing students the glute activation sequence, using me as a dummy. When we did the assessment, my glutes activated last, now my right one activates first, like it should!!0

Awesome!0

Great news @CaptainBoing it seems the better shape we are in, the quicker the recovery. Something for all of us to keep in mind.0

So I took it easy for a few days as I popped my hip out and was giving it a rest and my weight went up a few pounds so Now it's time to say ok body don't fail me now and get things back into gear. I walked the park with my mom and didn't need my parka today I have one more long day at work and hopefully we will have some nice weather next week.0
-
I'm at my mom's again. Weather is a little blah so I feel blah too. Tryin to keep from eating just cuz I'm bored. I want happy weather again so I can be happy.0
-
The sun's shining again! Yay!0

We're having a heat wave, high 80s and very windy. Didn't much matter as I was working on our taxes and stayed in most of the weekend. Not sure why I waited til the last minute this year but I'm glad that's done. Have a good week everyone!0
-
Now, thunderstorms are coming. I'll have to stay at my mom's an extra day or more. I was looking forward to going home and getting back to my routine. I do much better when it's a routine day.
How's everyone doing?0 -
UGH!!!!! well last week I worked all week and I didn't exercise my usual and I packed on an extra 4 lbs. I need to get my fanny in gear and do at least 10k steps a day. Making today my fresh start day.0
-
ohhh @2020pinktogo you may drop it as quickly as it came, don't know what that darn scale is thinking sometimes!
@NewOR2015 I too do best when it's a routine day or I'm out being active which isn't nearly often enough lately. That's the beauty of morning, any or every can be a fresh start day!0 -
ok yesterday I got in 18k steps today I am up and already exercised before work now I just need to get ready and pack a lunch. How is it you have 2 nice days and already the allergies are acting out in a vengeance. I'm so stuffy oh well. have a great day everyone!!!0
-
@2020pinktogo You are doing great! Sorry about the allergies.0

Things seem to be totally crazy busy in my life at the moment! But, at the same time I am overwhelmed by how awesome my friends are. Feeling sad about something and they all go out of their way to make me feel better and support me regardless of what is happening.
The Game of Thrones challenge is keeping me busy trying to ensure I get in the right kind of minutes but I'm loving that as it is forcing me to spend more time stretching which is exactly what I need at the moment.
Going to fitness tomorrow and going to try fencing again on Thursday.
The coming weekend is church camp (except for Sat evening when I am nipping back to town for one of my best friend's birthdays!!) and I am off work Friday through to Wednesday!!! Yay for down time and getting some good training time in!0 -
Crazy busy isn't all bad . . . @CaptainBoing I so enjoy hearing from you. Your energy makes me want to keep moving.0
-
What is it about salt water taffy where you have to try every color even though you know some of them you hate. I know from now on I will not start ever again. LOL0

I'm trying to make good choices while we are out of town this week. We return home Thursday evening. So, I'm hoping I can fix any damage done by my weigh-in next Monday.0
-
J you're doing great, I am sure you'll reach your goal by July.
My family loves SWTaffy, and those stores that have barrels of variety are mind blowing. Thank goodness we only go to them when on vacation! There are very few flavors we don't like.0
